    Woewoeful

According to bigfooty being offered around. Wants at least $150k (average AFL wage).

At least as good as spriggs and fosdike. Worth a punt to add midfield depth ?

    Better than Spriggs.

If his work ethic was better, he'd probably be better than Fosdike.

Can't see it being a problem picking him up cheap.

May add some extra ability in the midfield. If not, then no waste.

Would be handy in the the quest to defend our first ACTFL premiership.

Don't think we're paying Spriggs $150K. Woewoeful hasn't earned that nickname for nothing. Does not come close to playing positions we need to fill/require more depth. A total and utter waste to even consider recruiting him for 1 nanosecond.

    I'm on the Chandwagon!!!

If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

Spriggs at least had some potential upside that made him worth the punt - he was youngish and recovering from a major injury. Woewodin is decently skilled but slow even compared to the rest of Collingwood's midfield, and he's already 29.

Can't see him appealing to Roos at all.

He's miles ahead of Spriggs. And marginally ahead of Fosdike.

He's called woewoeful simply because of the medal he wears around his neck. Getting a browlow playing as a lose man across half back and midfield has been a huge burden ever since.

If he didnt have a browlow, he'd be considered the equivalent of Didak, Nick Stevens, those sorts.

Probably too old for us though.

He would certainly fill the gaping hole created when Brereton, Allison and Tingay caught the last train for the coast.

This pretty much sums up my views on the subject

I feel a bit sorry for Wowey. He's a nice guy and if you ask me his troubles aren't with his legs or hands or feet.

I think he had some good patches with Collingwood and I think since the Grand Final in '03, most of the problems for their small guys start and finish with the lack of fitness of their BIG men.

Small guys, even slow ones look a lot better when there are big men to take pressure off and create the space little blokes need.

Anyway, as far as Sydney goes, our priorities are speed in the midfield with the likely retirements of Maxfield and Williams in 2005 and 2006 respectively.

Wowey won't be filling that void. Seems Collingwood have now decided, speed is a priority for them too.
