    Melbourne Fan Day is back

Thought I would post this here for Melbourne Fans

Melbourne Fan Day is Back! - Official AFL Website of the Sydney Swans Football Club

    Sunday, December 5th
    11am - 2pm

    Aanenson Oval
    Murphy Reserve
    Port Melbourne
    Melways Map 56 J1

Apart from the chance to meet the players and hear the latest from our new coach, there will be entertainment for the kids including face painting, badge-making, relays and races and footy activities such as the handball target and goal kicking.

Fans will also be able to sign up as members for the 2011 season, to make sure they can see all the red and white action when the Swans play in Melbourne.

As well, the latest Swans merchandise will be available.

It's a bit early on a Sunday for me, but my daughter is always keen to go, and as I've never been before...
    We'll see.

That's a busy weekend for me; but if I can get everything done on Saturday, I may well be there.

Last one I went to was in 1994 when Barassi mercilessly bagged half the players (said it was lucky one was a decent pilot, because he wasn't much of a footballer, IIRC) and Robert Neill rifled through my album of footy cards when he thought I wasn't looking. Derek Kickett was the only player to help out with the barbecue.

Might go, depending on how the weather is.

Aanenson oval(aka Murphy's reserve) is literally a 3 minute walk from my home, so I'll be there. I think I'll also re-new my membership on this day too. I've already told my sister & Brother-in-law that I need to borrow their kid(my 2 1/2 year old nephew) for that morning, even though he supports Hawthorn, so I dont look like a gob smacked loser of an adult if I were to turn up on my own. I'll just make sure my nephew keeps his Hawthorn jumper at home that morning and not wear it.

Anyway, everyone who is going is sure to have a great day

If its anything like our "do" in Sydney this year, then I would urge you to go and have a bit of fun with fellow Swannies, players and management. Take your own texta if you want anything signed, (I suggested to Larissa they should provide each of the boys with their own next time, but to be prepared yourself is a good thought). And yes, it probably has been a while, but the club is much more member oriented these days and have listened to us and what we want to enjoy. So I hope you Melbourne Mob do go.

I took the family, I'm not sure whether it was the heat but it wasn't a huge turn up.
Jude Bolton was the MC, John Longmire and about half a dozen other players were there.
Longmire answered question ask by Jude and people in the crowd.
According to Longmire, Lewis Johnston, Rhyce Shaw ,Nick Malceski,Daniel Currie and Brett Meredith have comeback to training in great condition and are training really well. Expects Johnston to play early in the year. The ruckmen to spend more time on the ground due to the new interchange rule and Jessie White may be played down back. Craig Bolton has resumed running as has Mumford and Bradshaw is expected to start this week. Both Bradshaw and Bolton will be rapt in cotton wool for a while. The recruits, he is really happy with, Johnson is recovering from an injury, Lamb will spend time bulking up ,Parker it sounds like he is ready to go now and Spangher is going to be a handy back up. He was also rapt in getting Leigh Tudor, Henry Playfair and Crouchie as assistant coaches, mind you Crouchie has just broken his collarbone after falling of his bike. I probably left about an hour after Longmire spoke so I don't know if anybody else had a few words.

More Mumford on the ground can only be a good thing.

Fantastic, I've been wanting this tried out for a while now.

    Fan-@@@@ing-tastic.

    Not ideal, but understandable.

Sounds good, especially about Parker. Looks like a nice solid pick for us.

Tudor comes with very big raps, Hank is an intelligent, personable guy, and Crouchie is one of the most disciplined players to grace the field. Their appointments can only be a good thing.

Typical Crouchie. It never rains but it pours on the injury front for him.
