Is this a different by Law - Subject to By-law 6.18, any player, who is a listed Sydney University NEAFL player (primary or rookie list), must have played a minimum of six (6) home and away games in the current season for his AFL Sydney aligned club to be eligible to compete in the AFL Sydney Premier Division finals. NDS players must have played a minimum of three (3) home and away games in the current season for his AFL Sydney aligned club to be eligible to compete in the AFL Sydney Premier Division finals.
My bad - it is 9 or more h&a NE games, so Manteit (8) would qualify but not Wilson or Loneragan as they played 10. Players also need to have played a minimum of 6 Sydney AFL games to qualify so whilst guys like Austin Lucy and Matt Rawlinson played less than 9, they don't qualify because they didn't play enough Sydney AFL.
If we had won on Saturday any listed player would be eligible to play for Penno or NS in the Prelim irrespective of qualification.

This ties in with the 9 game rule - so if a player has played 8 NEAFL games but only 5 Sydney AFL games they are ineligible.
We are seeing it all in finals once again, the "managing" of lists. Good luck to them (4th div flag for UTS?)
Though it appears that next year it will become less prevalent with the new format, especially for the first grades of clubs (ie: non-premier 1st grade teams will only face up to the team they have played all year, not fly-ins from Prem Div )
A handful of old, slow Wests boys, a good 10 years past their prime, running on 1 leg most of them, get together for a kick but woe betide them if they win a game. Is this serious?
Just cancel every low division now shall we.
Why would Wests stack a major semi and risk losing an elimation final in the higher grade? Most people on this site weren't even born the last time a Wests lower grade opens men's team won a comp and it's only 1 first grade premiership in 40 years.
So how about easing up on the true battlers of the competition and keep sticking it up UTS, SU or ECE.
Nothing wrong with the older guys throwing in the towel and spending a full season playing the lower grade, but the moment you have any player making appearances in premier division games and div 5 games in the same season, you begin to question the whole teams reputation as a "division 5" football side
e.g.
Player statistics for Jordan Etto - SportsTG
6 games of premier division this season (with 13 games last season). Currently playing D5 not D2???
