The thread wasnt asking wether they were better than the current players, what he said was do we have a greater amount of depth than ever before. So if all those guys are capable of playing senior footy then the answer is most likely yes
The edge is not the limit, It's just the starting point...

Well if the question is have we got more players capable of being in the senior side well the answer is no. No more than we had last year or the year before or the year before that.

Has our depth of quality improved? Maybe. Slightly. Take out injuries and suspensions, No. Not really.

Are you for real? Hall? Yes. Kennelly? Yes. Barlow? Possibly. Davis? Possibly. Fosdike? Possibly.

    Brennan

That's 8 or over 1/3 rd of the team. I can't remember a better time at the Swans where we have had so much depth. The only weak point is that 6 out of the 8 are small to mediums with only two talls, Hall and Barlow. And ofcourse our perennial problem no back up ruck man.

Still though all in all pretty bloody goo i reckon'!
Agree Swanner. I can't remember another time where we've had 7 or 8 players beyond our best 22 who could quite easily play seniors. None of them are worldbeaters, but it does tell us that even if we have a few injuries, we'll still be competitive against most sides.

I think a few people missed your point.

    hehehe
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I think one person in this thread just likes to be rude and generally unpleasant as often as possible.

I think you're pretty much right. It's hard to work out a best 22 as there are currently players you'd want to include but can't fit. Height is a bit of an issue though.

I got your point Swanner, I was just thinking that last night as I was nodding off listening to Mike Sheahan and Robert Walls on the couch.

Great minds think alike, stay out of this Big AL.

I would think though that Crouch and Matthews have had their day. By the way where is Crouchy today?

Mathews - I love him but he's gone.

Barlow - Out of form and dropped and therefore not inour best 22.

Brennan - Struggling to make the twos let alone the seniors.

Crouch - Who knows but see Mathews above.

Davis - Can't get a game for god knows why.

Hall - Out suspended. Just as he was finding some form too. But remember how god awful he was last year? A cple of reasonable games this year does not equate to 2005/2006.

Kenelly - Well yes, he is a gun and we miss him desperately.

Fossie - Is he injured or not???

And there's probably more than one person here that needs to take off their rose coloured glasses....
