Apparently Richards is a hard-worker who just doesn't get the game time. Hopefully he becomes another Craig Bolton.

Richards player profile here:
He's only 22. Worth the draft picks if you ask me, given the supposed quality of this years draft and Richards' seniors experience.Occupational hazards:

The Dogs 2nd round pick must be high 20s. Saddo might be traded for that pick on his own if Rocket still values him. Can't see Powell as part of the equation though.Originally posted by desredandwhite
Well!!! Saddo and Powell going cheap for draft picks, I reckon. See if we can grab a pick in the high 30s for both of 'em or something
what have the dogs got to offer?

Apparently Sheedy rates him as a quality person to have around the club according to the story on essendonfc.com.au - so I guess he passed Ricky's rule!
Agree with Erin about becoming another Craig Bolton - if he plays half as well and consistently as B2, we'll have done pretty well.
I'm on the Chandwagon!!!
If you cannot compete for the premiership, it's better to be young and exciting than middle-aged and dowdy.

sheeds seems to be a legend with bombers fans now, (the same ones who wanted him sacked before). Anyone would think richards was andrew bomford. I think the kid could be a real good player, he takes a good mark for a start!
the more i consider the deal the happier i am, he will be a good support act and we need some height in the team and he has a good grounding in seniors footy, worth a punt!Theres not much left to sayComment

The sticking point with Saddington seems to be his asking price - $220,000 apparently.
Very steep for an average injury prone player. Saddo needs to get his value into some perspective.
I'd like at least 1 pick in the top 30 of the draft. 1-30 you never know what you'll get but pick #55 is a very long shot.
The Dogs 2nd round pick is most likely."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

Well we've broken the golden rule to never trade with Sheedy and look what happens.... our pick 51 turns into pick 55.
What the hell is Sheedy playing at???!!!"As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

would sheedy even of done the deal?
its not like sheedy and roosy sit there trading footy cardsTheres not much left to sayComment

You have to say that the Swans trading plan is consistent. If we do go for a 'mature' player they must be <23 YO and have played >10 senior games.Comment

I've seen Richards play quite a bit in the VFL on ABC2 - he was always a standout in that competition, giving good run and rebound. I don't know who he'll displace in the backline - we're pretty settled aren't we?Comment

Maybe he will allow Kennelly to play in the midfield a bit more.Originally posted by Phil Tarbox

Also, it's good to get that extra height. I am constantly astonished at how much height our defenders give away.Comment
