Super fit and runs all day. I don't see any need to play Mills in the midfield. He adds stability down back. About time Dettoli got a run.
Campbell was terrific in the second quarter. They were getting close to pulling away and he went onto the ball about halfway through the quarter and played with real intent. There were four or five tackles or smothers in five minutes that dragged the contest back. Just elite stuff, and not what he's usually known for. Let's hope he kicks on.

Good point Nico re Campbell having impact in the midfield last week after Rowey's injury. This well may explain why neither Sheldrick or Cleary were selected.

Cox stated in his presser that he's keen to look at different midfield mix to help improve our clearances. He knows what he is going to get from Sheldrick and he doesn’t appear confident trialing Cleary there, for whatever reason.

Hoping Campbell may have similar type impact as to when Heeney was thrown into the midfield. He has certainly bounced back quickly from his lengthy injury spell better than i'd expected.

It's exciting how potentially this may help to improve the quallity of our midfield depth when Rowey and J Mac return.

Cox appears to be keen for our midfield to also have impact playing up forward, hence why Rowey has also been successfully trialled there. This is Sheldrick's current limitation and Cox has hinted this is why he's had limited time on ground.

Not much would reasonably explain why you play a 1st round pick 60% in his 4th year.
Nothing what Cox said does either.
He had Rowy totally out of the midfield 6 weeks ago, Chad less than 25% 8 weeks ago.

They are ridiculously handling Sheldrick, name anyone having a midfield impact when they are on the pine as much as him

It’s obvious to us as well that our midfield needs work as we get beaten on clearances far too often. The coaches need to come up with solutions- that’s their job! Campbell has to be in the mix- that’s not rocket science. Sheldrick is not quite at the level we need but hopefully can still improve and work on his disposal. In the remaining matches before the finals, we should try Cleary there, though I don’t think he will make it. In that case, he will be confined to the ressies. Who else can we try, as this is our main weakness, together with a second ruck and a tall defender.?

Good on him. Can't wait to see how he fares, particularly against a big bruiser and a good player in Sweet. People at the club rate Green highly, so let's go baby.

And Port are now without Georgiades and Jones.

Tough debut, since Sweet is one of the better rucks in the competition. So hopefully Green can limit his hits to advantage, while getting a few taps, contested possessions and clearances himself.

Port have actually got five players 200cm or over. So that could work two ways. Port could take plenty of contested marks, or we could bring the ball to ground and have a lot of fun running off them.

in theory it sounds ok - but neither give much in those roles, probably why only one of them will play (when Grundy is back) carrying 2 players is a bridge to far and definitely makes the team worse off. Yes ladhams it's such a shame as i think we would benefit from a ruckman come fwd to assist with grundy

                          Looking at the wrong stats

Mason Cox has played 13 games for 90 Disposals and 4 gls

Jackson however is a Top 5 Brownlow pick and their 3 tall Permanent fwds have kicked over 140 goals while they are 3 games clear on top.

                          Grundy & Ladhams/Green Ruck/Bench
                          Curnow, Logan and Joel/Mclean Fwd

No team in the comp can go with 3 tall fwds

                            Case in point

Look at who has all the goals for Freo in their half

Very easy to analyse, No team can go with 3 tall fwds

if Green was ready but he isn't and would be fully on board with you as you know if ladhams and Amerty were both fit
