CBAs for yesterday's match: Rowbottom 27, Grundy 21, Serong 19, Gulden 18, Green 10, Sheldrick 9, Papley 8, Cleary 7, Cootee 3, Campbell 1 and Roberts 1. Also, Mills and Wicks both got a centre clearance, without lining up in the centre square.

Credit to Serong for adapting so quickly. Good to see Rowbottom spending more time in his natural position. Wouldn’t mind a few more attendances from Campbell, who's possibly in career best form.

Serong is one of those guys that you can tell to go anywhere and he will just get stuck in and compete. Even had time at full forward resting yesterday. Can do everything.

Good to see Rowy back where he belongs too. I know partially in requirement of absolute need at the moment, but he has to play in his best position, simple as that.

I’d be playing Mills full time in the midfield. He did amazingly in that role a few years ago. Surely they can cover him in defence.

Wicks has been bloody amazing since I said he was finished as an AFL footballer and I don't know why they were trying him down back. His decision making has gone from about 3/10 when he was a forward to a solid 9/10 as a defender. He still has a shonky disposal or 2 in him, but invariably he makes the right call far more often than not, he is a very good small defender 1 on 1, and he is increasing in stature as a leader down there.

What to do with Mills is an interesting one - I tend to agree with how good he can be in the midfield, but I think he is underrated as a half back general by some - and I think we need him down back a little bit more. I think the fact we've found a superstar bargain in Serong has made all the difference - is there anywhere he can't play that bloke and do it well.

It feels a bit like an old school Bloods midfield group from the CBAs listed by Deja above. Some grunt and a little bit of class - not one that is going to win games by ripping teams apart, but one that with the mix to put in the massive efforts that will be needed to keep us in the game and play enough of the game on our terms to have a chance.

Can anyone who was at the SCG yesterday give their thoughts on how many people left the ground after the AFLW game? Some media reports are that the number of walkouts was substantial but I also heard someone say that the number was relatively small.

My friend that went to both games said there were definitely some that left - but he didn't think it was that many overall by the time you take into account the normal number that would have only attended the AFLW game (after all - even though the media won't admit it, there are some fans that are genuinely just interested in AFLW only too!)

In some good news both Brodie and Charlie made the AA squad. Charlie should be a lock for the final 22/3. Seems likely Jackson will nudge Brodie for the second ruck spot but he’s had a cracker of a year and will likely now win our B+F

McCartin is very stiff. He’s had a better year than Sicily who was named.

Can I add that my friend could only make it to the mens' game and she said that she did see some people (scores) leaving as she arrived - and many journalists waiting to interview them? There were 16,000+ for the AFLW and 30,000+ for the AFL. That matches what I saw - and both groups were loud. Also take into account the time between the two games - I was planning on leaving for a while then returning but I got caught up talking so got to see all the 2005 heroes on the field.
The crowd for the AFL was about 1800 fewer than the Norths round last year - but last year the result counted and this game was a dead rubber so it makes sense that some wouldn't bother.
I have some friends who elected not to attend the men's game but those I know who went with some trepidation have said that they/we were so glad we did. The whole Swans family rallied and many cried when Errol and Callum did. It was all very affirming.
