Out of interest, has there been any reporting of why Hamling sat out more than half of the final quarter? I know we often preserve prized assets, and no disrespect to Joel but . . . Hopefully no more than a knock.

Enjoying a rewatch of the game at one stage they showed the bench late and one of the commentators quipped something along the lines of knowing where you sit in the pecking order late when showing those who were on the bench, Joel was sitting there with them and my mind immediately went to the Sesame Street song of "one of these things is not like the other" (also, with all due respect to Joel!).
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

I love JMac, but they'd want to be sure of his fitness. Prelim finals are genuinely hot. If not him, I'd consider a tall down back given at times, the two Harrys found themselves on Oscar Allen!

And I'm not dropping anyone. They did their bit. Even Cleary had some of the highest number of pressure acts on the ground.
I noticed Amartey did not even appear on the injury update list this week. Do you believe he has already accepted the CARLTON DEAL? I hope we get a first round pick at least.

He was listed as an emergency for the QF….

Indeed. Mind you, one of them also made the point he had bragging rights as the sole premiership player on our list so . . .

Carlton needs its first round picks and points for Cody Walker. Maybe a future first round pick in 2027?

Amartey was available last week but wasn't picked.

Carlton wouldn't have to give up anything to get Joel. He's a free agent, all the Swans would get would be a compensation pick from the AFL. Probably something in the second round.
