I wouldn't be coming down too hard on our lads. Feel free to by all means but I'll always be proud of our boys.....the way they have responded to the @@@@storm has been brilliant.

I'm gutted but I'm not going to throw @@@@ at my team.

I probably shouldn't say it but winning tonight may have brought major embarrassment next week if we indeed hit a wall then.

Freo only won one quarter.....we just didn't do enough with our earlier scoreboard dominance. Three posters and some poor set shots but hey, that's the way it goes.

He refuses to kick the footy. Having said that we made some fundamental mistakes late in the 3rd quarter. Why didn't Logan kick it long with 1.18 on the clock. Gutsy effort but we ran out of petrol tickets in the last quarter.

Shame that we couldn't hold on. Very brave effort against an almost injury free Fremantle, but we looked a bit cooked early in the final quarter. Plus some of our lesser lights didn't quite have the class to hurt them on the rebound.

            Very classy interview from Rampe.

that's why iam devasted would they were able to achieve and literally just stopped in the last, yes they were out of tickets but to give up thst lead and lose when they really deserved to win - in away i couldn't see us winning the GF so rather now than a another GF loss

Great effort for 3 quarters then ran out of puff. Well done to the boys- they gave their all but in the end not quite good enough. The goal on the 3/4 siren started it.

Probably right. On reflection probably did not have the firepower to win a GF.

I refuse to come on here and hang @@@@ on the 23 out there and who were left to carry us through the last three weeks. They did their bit. The fact we got as far and as close as we did is remarkable. Look elsewhere if you wanna vent your spleen.

i don't think anyone will go off at any particular player but there was a few who shouldn't of played but got a game for obvious reasons and tonight we saw why and i don't think there will be one swans fans who would question the entire teams effort - we have done better than anyone could of expected under the circumstances - i am a devasted because i can see how much effort they put in and to play one bad quarter and lose when we were the better side for 3 quarters would be hard to take

Some positives. McDonald was probably the best tall forward on the ground. If both he and Curnow stay fit next year, they should wreak a whole lot of havoc. Papley was inspirational early, but being taken out with that slide, seemed to slow him down.

At the other end, McCartin and to a lesser extent, Hamling, had the measure of Fremantle's talls for most of the game.

In the middle, well everywhere really, Gulden kept on racking them up. Definitely led by example. Serong has been the big success story of the season. Shame that his brother was the most dominant clearance player tonight, though. Which makes me think, that if Chad decides that he wants to go back home, then perhaps Fremantle would like to do a swap for Caleb?

Anyway, lots of really wholehearted efforts across the ground, and for a while, it looked like we were grand final bound, but just couldn't quite finish them off in the latter part of the third quarter. Possibly a blessing in disguise, as we did look cooked in the final quarter, and might have found it hard to put in a decent performance next week. But credit to players and staff, for regrouping and giving us fans hope again.
