It was a great game to watch even though we left feeling a bit flat at the end. The team didn't leave anything in the tank and should see us in good stead for coming seasons.

One of the things I have enjoyed about the finals is seeing Paddy McCartin involved in the warm up sessions with the team. If only ....

My biggest surprise was the misses by Errol and Paps

with neals punishment and the big fines to hawks players, not sure there were not at least fines for tackle on Paps (a deliberate slide taking his feet out) and the shove the #6 gave to I think justin on the boundary if that was not rough play I go he.

I'm not a big fan of Josh Jenkins (SEN) as he's been mostly negative towards us over the years, but he has heaped lots of praises on us after reviewing our finals performances.

He said it will be the making of the team and Dean Cox over the next 3 - 4 years. He's impressed how Cox has formulated a new contested footy game plan, which the team has succesfully bought into and galvanized them as a result of the 5 banned players.

He believes we've learnt a system mentality type of footy, in which we'll no longer be as highly dependable on our big stars to win big games. When the banned players do return, they will enhance this further being the cream on the top rather than the engine room so to speak.

Josh is impressed how we now have 2 effective game styles, which we can switch in between when required.

Adding to the majority of the thread... one word stands out for me with respect to the finals series.. pride..

Pride in the players in their application bonding, in the coaches and staff (particular shout out to Millsy, Pav, Coxie and Tommy Chadwick - being faces of the club throughout the past month or so -they have certainly earned their pay cheques).

I don't know what is in store for next year, as a lot of other teams will strengthen, but I think the right culture is present.

Hopefully all learning will be taken and our team will come back bigger and better - this includes ALL players.

Finally, if it is the end , which I hope it will not be (as I think they are still capable of playing at the highest level), massive kudos to Ramps and Harry Cunningham. Great servants of the club.

I tend to agree.....but it's great to have a plan B. A plan B which is born from the 'Bloods' fighting spirit and never say die culture.

It's a plan we can bring out when needed....and more importantly, bring out on GF day, ie: the 'balance' you mentioned.

I think Cox is going to be a wonderful coach over the years......one that should take us that extra step to greatness.
