Prelim: Brisbane v Hawthorn.

The Hawks players, coach (though he was smart enough not to directly criticise it) and fans are all going off. I get players being disappointed after a game like that but they’re spooking it up in post match interviews. The big giveaway on the free was once Impey realised he was cooked, he easily dropped it to his foot. Which he could have done earlier. So BALLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!!!

My thoughts exactly.....by doing what he finally did, he proved he could have done it right from the start. Correct decision, suck on it Hawks fans.

Yeah well, the Matt Stevic era is over, so screw them.

And then the “family club” fans showed their class by throwing bottles onto the ground afterwards. The same gracious pricks who turbocharged the booing of Goodes, before their President denied it was anything to do with race. Which of course led to him being appointed to the AFL Commission. You can’t hate Hawthorn enough.

Having just read the AFL site article on Mitchell's press conference, I find these couple of paragraphs disappointing.

"I had no idea what I wanted to do at the end of the game. Part of me wanted to break down in tears. Part of me wanted to scream with rage. Part of me wanted to throw chairs. You don't know how to feel when you're in the stand. You need to continue to be feeling that emotion because that's why we love it."

"But how it manifests itself we shouldn't be throwing things on the field and doing those types of things. But the passion in the stands and the passion of the game is why we love it so much, so I hope that for the vast majority it was felt responsibly."

To me, that seems closer to condoning the fans throwing bottles at the umpires, rather than condemning that dangerous behaviour. Hopefully the AFL will issue some sort of rebuke, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'm glad Hawthorn didn't make the GF. Not just because of our history against them, but also for the sheer arrogance of their coach and supporters who act like their entitled.

Of course they will receive no trade ban when get Merrett and King. as they can have anyone!

However, it will go down as one of the classic all time great finals. It was a very exciting PF weekend, even though we were on the wrong end.

I"ll be favouring Freo slightly next week, but either way history will be made.

Perhaps Mitchell could've expressed his frustration by rushing up to the umpire, tackling him and kneeing him in the thigh so that he got a corky. That's what the little grub used to do when he was a player. And perhaps he could reflect on how lucky Hawthorn was to NOT receive a 50 metre penalty that would've given Brisbane a certain goal a minute or so before the end of the game.

Free kick count ended up being 20 to 15 in Brisbane's favour. But i recall it was 14 to 7 in Hawthorn's favour at one stage. So from there it was 13 to 1 in Brisbane's favour!

Just fantastic to to see Hawks fans suffering! The fact that they think they were cheated makes it even more enjoyable!!

They weren't the only club to boo Goodesy but they certainly lead the charge and the club did absolutely nothing about it. And they probably won't do anything about the morons who threw bottles at the umpires either!

The talk is Brisbane will plead for Lachie to get off with his long playing record, same as the tribumal did with Pendlebury. That is his only hope.
