No doubt Rampe will be enticed back to footy in some capacity, hopefully with us, as he possesses too good of a footy brain.

Like others, was saddened and somewhat surprised of his retirement decision. I thought he'd go on given the situation with our defence minus Blakey, Cunningham & Mills for most of 27. He articulated his decision so well and shared the pain how the Pullman incident had impacted on him. So desperate to see him wearing a premiership medallion.

Snell, Riak & Bowman are now presented with great opportunities to break into the team and hold their own, same as Edwards did this year.
A legend and a true Blood-always put the team first. Thought he would play one more year but he realised his body is exhausted for his standards. Hope the club finds a position for him- defensive coach maybe? KSAS, the three guys you mention will be needed for sure, but the experience we’ve lost will be hard to replace next year. Is this going to impact our window? Realistically, it must.

Agree Roadrunner experience will be hard to replace, but hoping the likes Wicks, Bice and Roberts will step up. Lloyd may also help out even though i prefer him in his current role up front.

Mrs Danzar snd I were at the club guernsey presentation dinner a number of years ago. Ramps comes over, says 'you two must be important sitting here'. Plonks himself down and chats to us for the entire break between formalities. He was as quirky as we expected he would be. Waved and said goodbye (remembered both our names) as we were leaving at the end of the night. Top bloke. Amazing club man and player. Will be deeply missed by all.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

what I meant was if you stripped the forward line like we have stripped our backline fans would be up in arms............No Curnow, No Papley, No McDonald, No Lloyd for 2027 would create a meltdown

With Rampe's retirement, that makes it 4 players off our list alongside Blakey, Armatey & Cunningham. We have no unsigned players heading into 2027, so do we envisage there'll be no delistings and we head into the draft requiring 4 selections? (Not sure about the rookie spots).

2027 we have heaps coming out of contract, when Tassie comes into the picture:

Free Agents: Grundy, Chad Warner, McCartin, McLean, Lloyd & Hamling.

Out Of Contract: Sheldrick, Cootee, Cleary, Corey Warner, Jordan, Dattoli, Phillipou, Roberts, Hetherton, King, Bowman, Chamberlain, Snell, Ladhams, Riak, Hanily & Green.

There are five players off our list. You have missed Adams. All remaining players have a contract for next year so there will be no delistings and we will take five spots to the draft.

Ahh i missed Taylor Adams! Thanks rb4x for correcting me. Yes, that makes it 5 players off our list.

I counted 23 players coming out of contract next year. Wonder if other clubs have similar high number due to the Tassie factor?

Don’t really know, but it means a lot of work for our List Management guys- however there are a lot of players coming out of their draft contracts so these will be relatively easy. My main concern regarding our senior players is the Chad- I’d hate to lose him as he’s a talent we need in the team. I think it will depend on how we go in 2027- losing Blakey is still disappointing- money turns players’ heads unfortunately.

Just to clarify slightly. Adams, Amartey, Blakey and Cunningham have come off our main list, while Rampe comes off the rookie list. I'm fairly sure that Edwards has to be promoted off the rookie list. So that leaves three vacancies on the main list and two on the rookie list. Although that assumes that we stick with our current 37 main and 7 rookie mix. It's possible to go to a 36-8 mix or a 38-6 mix.
