Over the last week or so we have received numerous calls and emails from Swans members in Sydney enquiring as to when they will receive their membership cards.
We understand and appreciate people's concerns however can assure you we are on top of the issue and have a plan to make sure the cards are with you as soon as possible (and in any case well ahead of our first game on 31 March).
The bottom line is that despite our best efforts, we have unfortunately been let down by our mail house. Quite simply they under-estimated the workload and hence delays have been incurred. To clear the back log we have engaged another mail house so we now have two mail houses on the job.
To give you a feel for the scale of the issue, we're talking about members in Sydney only - not Melbourne. We currently have approximately 21,000 Sydney members registered. Of these approx. 15,000 have already received their membership cards, the balance of 6,000 are still to be sent out.
At this stage we expect to clear the back log by this weekend which means all members currently registered should receive their cards at the latest by early next week.
We do sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused by this delay - your frustration is ours too. Be assured our absolute priority is to clear the back log, get your membership cards to you as soon as possible and then to ensure that this situation never arises again.
In closing, we look forward to seeing you at the footy and remind you that entry is free to this Friday night's practice game against Port Adelaide at Telstra Stadium.
From the club - I think they just copy and paste this each year
To be fair it is a different excuse this year. Last year it was the printers who let them down, this year it is the mailing house.
I know it is nice to have the membership card prior to the start of the season but you will still be able to get in if you've renewed and haven't received your card prior to the 1st game. It happened to a friend 2 seasons ago, she had to rock up to the match day office to get a voucher to allow entry, she had to provide proof of ID.

Our son has his but we don't have ours yet, I'm not overly concerned about it. Goody Stella is anxious about it and I think has been waiting on the postman quite a bit lately, she has canteen duty today and I'm working from home so I hope like hell that they don't turn up today!
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

That doesn't sound like a pain in the ass at all.....
As long as they don't have the same printers making up the vouchers, they might have enough and they might have them available... might....

Don't despair yet - still 15 days to go to the first match
I received mine yesterday. Of the four of us who booked together, one is still waiting for his.
Occupational hazards:
I don't eat animals since discovering this ability. I used to. But one day the lamb I was eating came through to me and ever since then I haven't been able to eat meat.
not heart broken, just confused by behaviour of the opp s*x
Hey, I'm the same sex trhey are & I still find them confusing, if that is any help.
but then again, I find women generally even more confusing. Especially the types who stampede over each other at Target when some designer I have never heard of releases a new brand of lingerie. Complete wild animal instincts get released in that lot at times I swear.

You'll just have to stay away from the Target lingerie section when they are releasing new brands.
Visit that section in a quieter time and you won't get stampeded. You may stand out a bit more, but you won't get stampeded.
Driver of the Dan Hannebery bandwagon....all aboard. 4th April 09
I got mine yesterday too. Haven't spoken to the old man so I don't know if he got his.
That little black bit on the lanyard won't last. The kids will have broken theirs by round 5. Good idea, poor quality. Not a fan of the keyring either.

I'm terrified of putting that keyring into my pockets. I believe it could cause some extensive damage to myself.
Still bloody nothing.
I'm going to ring the club and panic if it's not in Monday's mail.
Wild speculation, unsubstantiated rumours, silly jokes and opposition delight in another's failures is what makes an internet forum fun. Blessedare the cracked for they are the ones who let in the light.
