Then you agree that's a midfield fault.

    It is not 50/50.
When we DO get a clearance, it is not directed to any forward, just blindly hurried forward. (See Jude Bolton for this)

And what has this got to do with Leo Barry?

    Um.
And it's Leo's fault that the Pies' we're pressing so hard around the defensive fifty that we couldn't get it clear how?

He was already a complete player.

I agree with that, but you have not shown why Barry should be dropped.

Three goals to three quarter time is yet another example of how there are some dreadful problems with the side and changes have to be made before it is too late (some of us have been saying that for weeks - it's getting very close to being too late).

We've only kicked more than 10 goals to 3QT three times this year! We've kicked 12 or more goals for the game in half the games and passed 100 points in just a quarter of them.

Hopefully we don't get any more crap messages during the week about recognising they need to start better! We've won only 5 first quarters, 6 second quarters and five third quarters this year.

    yep i hear ya
    1st qtr starts r abysmal
the 3rd qtr isnt called the premiership qtr for nothing.
robert walls sumed it up perfectly, we're becoming a 1 trick pony and teams are getting used to it. i mean the lions and tigers matched it with us minute by minute.

of course the reason we've made the last 2 g/f is due to our impeccable defense, but we need to be sure fire in attack as well.

hell even the lowly blues score more than what we do for a whole game by half time!

richmond on friday night, 80-16 v melbourne
collingwood had it not been for some poor kicking should have been about that against us at half time!

    but yep ur dead right.
a big loss to the cats could derail us

though i'm disappointed to see that some are saying that our season and successful period is over... where's the faith!?

what i find funny is that everyone seems to think malceski had a good game. i'm a massive fan of his and tonight was the worst game he has played in a long time... he paid no respect to his man when in defence... didn't stay with him and thomas got the better of him pretty quickly. he had at least 4 or 5 different opponents tonight (that i noticed) and i don't think he was better than any of them (as much as it hurts to say it).

words can't even express how i feel about barry hall...

and mcveigh, i've been keeping the faith for weeks but to no avail... i'm still waiting

for now i'm going to drag my sorry behind to watch the replay and see if things appear differently on tv...

I seriously thought the pre-game entertainment had more coordination than the Swans did all night tonight.

    Pfft.
dude theres 5 main passages of play in afl.
    1. clearances from stoppages and centre bounces
    2. kicking to forward line
    3. half back defence and attacking forays
    4. mid field stability
    5. ruck contests

    - we're fine in the ruck, our on ballers need to read the play better from the taps

we have been belted in virtually every game. the only game we have played where we looked good was against port

    brisbane are rubbish
    richmond are rubbish
    melbourne are rubbish
hawthorn and western bulldogs were both poor, and hawthorn required some critical 50m penalties to get us back into it

as i said earlier we really do need to get belted by geelong so that some of our players appreciate just how poor they have been this season.

fosdike, malceski, bolton 2 and to a lesser degree kirk and everitt are the only players who could be said to be performing this season

yep it's the usual suspects who killed us 2day @ TS: licuria, rocca, burns, didak with the aid of young'ns cloke and thomas + some mates.

it's amazing to think how lacklustre the swans are without davis or kennelly.but on paper, we have a behemoth of a forward line, solid on ballers and a sure fire defence with 2 decent ruckmen to boot. what the hell is going wrong??? a win would have shot us up from 10th to 4th with healthy %, what more is at stake going into a game against #1 team geelong away?

I'm also beginning to wonder if the swans will make the 8. maybe we will fixture in 5-8 but I doubt the top 4 would be any teams other than: west coast, geelong, collingwood, hawthorn and adelaide maybe if they improve their attack.

just like the aust sharemarket producing 20% growth each year for the last 4 I think maybe the swans dynasty is waning or being challenged BIGTIME.

    2003 - prelim finals
    2004 - semi finals
    2005 - premiers
    2006 - grand finalists
    2007 - **??????***

time to blood the youngsters because it's not looking too good.

hall, barry, jolly, everitt, micky-o, crouch etc etc guys like mcveigh, buchanan, malceski, dempster etc need to step up. malceski is the only one who really can hold his head up high...he's a talent for sure, much in the joel bowden mould for the tigers.

leo barry is the one i think needs most scrutiny. i forgive hall because he's giving it a real go (PRACTISE YA MARKING BARRY FOR GOD'S SAKE MANNNNN ) and also kirk because of his hard work in and under. but leo, as a captain, apart from some daring runs, has conceded height, strength and alot of goals to key forwards, maybe a stint in reserves to make him realise even the captain isn't a certain starter???

if i had the power, bolts would be the first to go, followed closely by mcveigh, ablett, buchanan and schnieder. the "effective disposal" rate of that group alone is -256% (i used the calculator, and double checked it - the stat is correct!!)
