He was quiet in the third quarter - hence the Eagles smashed us at every centre break. His work in the second and fourth quarters in the middle was a major reason why we managed to start getting ball into our forward line. I think I read somewhere that he had 9 clearances for the game, which is not too shabby. He was certainly our best midfielder by a long long way.

The problem is that no-one else was able to do the hard work in the middle when Kirk wasn't. With Monty having a party in Canberra, Jude and Ablett unable to do much at all in the middle, Goodes struggling to rid himself of a very effective Selwood tag, and Schmidt still not spending enough time in there, too much was left to one person up against the best midfield quartet in the game back together for the first time this year. It's pretty amazing we got within two goals really.

To be honest I partly agree with him this time. Kirk goes in hard and is courageous. But he often doesn't do much with the footy. He didn't have a big game last night ether.

The one that must be straight back who should never have been out is Buchahan. At least he is prepared to run all game and get to a contest in contrast with JB who is a dead set bludger.

have to agree with that boroboy, i wish we had a few more like the captain we d be a champion side. need a few more players with heart and guts.
kirk is a champion player and a champion bloke. rok lobster would be good to post constructive posts as opposed to a lot of the rubbish you post on here. then again it is worth a laugh.

i thought dempster had his best game ever, mcveigh kept the improve up, benny was more than ok. no need to go on abt the usual who give their all week in and week out. now the bad teddy 3 shockers in a row, ablett where was he, b1 the less said the better, bevan we have been saying it for how long now get him out of the side he costs 2-4 goals a game, blind freddie and all of us can see how bad he is when will roosy and the match comm see it as well. grundy gave nothing at the back staker had a party on him. then there were our usual to many clangers that gifted them a few goals as well as the few they were gifted by the maggots.

The one which was most important was at the end of the 2nd term Cox clearly pushed Everitt in the back in our forward line in a ruck contest which we saw cleary from behind the goal WCE went on to kick a goal which meant a possible 12 point turaround.
Since looked at the replay on TV and the camera was at a poor angle.
I guess Cox & the WA umps know where the cameras can't pick it up

There were three umpiring decisions that had me spitting chips early in the third term. They kind of set the scene, though that doesn't excuse the way we were walloped at stoppages for all of that quarter.

One that particularly irritated me was against B2 for chopping Lynch's arms in the marking contest. Bolton made a legitimate spoil. His hand was on the ball while Lynch's were still being raised. Well after Bolton had spoiled the ball, his arms made contact with Lynch's on the way down. Absolutely no way was that an infringement by Bolton and it gave them a free entry into 50 from which they scored not long after.

    Sorry
I forgot about the 30 possessions he gets every week his incredible leg speed and stamina and his ability to take a high leaping overhead mark.
