Crouch far from gone this year.

There was a point late in the game when Taylor loped away from Crouch who look too buggered to chase him. -
Can't believe some of the rubbish on here about Crouch...a good contributor on Sunday.Leave a comment:

I stand on my record for not dissing Sydney players unnecessarily, but today Crouch was not good, at times verging on embarrassing.
Give him his due, he made position in the forward-line, took 2 uncontested marks and kicked truly. He had a few other possessions, too.
Apart from that, he looked plain old slow. Whichever Hawk was playing on him could beat him by a few steps in a 15 metre race for the ball. Even when around the contest, he didn't play with the fire and focus we've come to expect from him. I wouldn't have backed him to beat his direct opponent in any one-on-one contest.
I cannot see how he would even be in consideration for our best 22 next week on that showing. And unless he's got a lot more improvement left in him, in an extremely tight list environment (few-to-no retirees, lots of rookies who have earnt consideration for promotion) he would be no certainty to deserve a spot in 2008.Leave a comment:

Did anyone else see Crouchy directing Cheese and other players where to go on the field. Whilst Crouchy is under done, I believe his leadership and understanding of the gameplan is highly regarded and needed in the swans team.
Like a good wine getting better all the time!

Crouch was better than last week but he still fumbled a lot when trying to gather from the ground. Sure he should get better with game time but if you want to bring in Buchanan and Hall, then Crouch is towards the top of the list of those, on form, who would have to be sitting on the edge.Leave a comment:

Where are all the crouch bashers after todays game? Gee he kicked 2 goals that must have let the team down alot. Damn it!!Leave a comment:

Don't disagree with that, however it was the last game he played before the Pies game so is relevant.
I want Schmidt to be in the team as well and would pick him ahead of Bevan, Cheese, Mathews etc.Leave a comment:

But with Thomas' height, marking ability and evasive speed, it was a disaster waiting to happen. A very bad match-up, I don't think Crouch even believed who he was matched-up on with all that ball watching..Leave a comment:

Im not being a smart arse. There other players who have been stuck in the two for an eternity who need to be brought into the side to give some run and carry. Crouch used to offer this, he just doesnt have it any more. Sure he can tag, but I think we have enough taggers. I don't think he should be delisted, but I dont think he should get a game before Schmidt etc.
I'm bored of hearing about him flogging Aka, it is brought up everytime Crouch is questioned. Thats ONE player in the AFL he has the wood on. It's a psychological thing. Thats great and all, it is funny to watch, but at the same time with 15 opposing teams and 22 players per team - he needs to do more than just flog Aka.Leave a comment:
