Kirk should be stand alone captain in 2008

I was actually just taking the piss, fishing for a reaction, but i'm just not sure if i can agree on making Goodes captain, maybe vice like someone else suggested, but don't give him the job all by himself. He's such a free spirit, almost as free as the hippie, but Goodes relies on the freedom aspect of his role, and not being shackled by the expectations of captaincy. No need to change it really. If anyone should be captain after Kirk, i say we go really young, like West Coast did with Cousins (not the best example at this point in time, but you get what i mean), so, Melcho perhaps? And if we go with someone experienced, why not B2?

Even i dont think Melcho should be captain yet.

Poor Goodsey - he's like Prince Charles; all the grooming in the world and he'll miss out on the big gong. It'll be passed onto a younger player who has more longevity (ala Melcho).

My only saving grace is that Kirky is getting on now (like a lot of the other hippies in Nimbin) and Goodsey may or may not get one or two years in as Captain when Kirky retires. (In my ideal world.)

I totally agree that the other two should be dropped.

PS Deadly, I don't disagree on everything. I like to think independently (and normally so far outside the square that it's hard to others to catch up - ala the "Fodder" fiasco about a month ago). I suppose I'm just (one of) the black sheep of the RWO family. Every family has at least one.

Agree with that he has been great over the last couple of months but went missing for 12 games. Not a great display of leadership IMHO.

Perfect! By the time Kirk retires, Goodes will have elevated himself to a level where his leadership abilities are rock solid. Perhaps, if he plays two more years, let Kirk play his last year without the burden of captaincy but still able to mentor Goodesy?

Kirk for mine. IMHO he is the only one that has desplayed all the qualities
of a leader. Leo and BBH were only Captains when it came time to call
heads or tails.
