I went to the Gabba last night and thought the boys were hard at it and well organised. I just hope Davo works back into the sort of form to help us add to that sort of performance, he has done it before to great effect. I don't buy the argument that he can't get it back.

Just watched Saints v. Bulldogs. If Davis played for the 'Dogs he'd kick 50+ goals per year given their flexibility of forward targets and good disposal into the forward line.

Davis is not at his strongest in one on ones with the ball in the air.

I don't agree. As I said above, Davis is surprisingly strong in one-on-ones. He doesn't look to have a load of muscle but he does the business in the pinch.

Keep in mind while he kicked those goals there were teammates who delivered him the ball on each occassion. The two taps from Ball, the 60 meter torpy from O'Keefe and the handball from Kennelly.

Becasue some here rate him that way. And because Davise is a small forward who cannot perform that role in modern football. Johnston is a benchmark. Davise doesn't even come close. As I said last drinks have been called on his career and his glass is just about empty.

He plays a completely different role. Johnson is the dogs main forward target. Davis is about our 4th when he plays.

The benchmark is not one of the best players in the comp and no one has said Davis is, or should be, near that.

He has performed his role adequately well, as the numbers have shown. Undoubtedly he could do better, but that is not the same as saying he is finished.

If Davo replaced Johnstone at the Dogs, Johnno would have to be injured or retired. Johnstone can play many different roles even at his age because he still has pace. Davo never had and apparently never will.

Considering Johnson plays as the Bulldogs' full forward and main target inside 50, there really is no comparison. The Swans set up totally differently.

If Davis replaced Johnson at the Dogs he would be their leading goal kicker also.

If Davo replaced Johnstone at the Dogs, Johnno would have to be injured or retired. Johnstone can play many different roles even at his age because he still has pace. Davo never had and apparently never will.
