As mentioned in another thread about protecting the ruckmen without the fitness base of several pre-seasons, this is exactly why Mumford wasn't in the Cats lineup in September, the poor guy was exhausted. He was a lone ruckman for much of the season with Ottens injured and Blake in the 2s.

He gets a remarkable number of tackles for a ruckman. Rather low on kicks, though.

CAnt say that I saw to many games of Geelong's last year, but I have heard that he is good, but what I can say is I was at the game against us at skilled stadium in round 7 i think it was, I was quietly confident that Jolly would give the kid a bath that day, well all I can say is that I think Mumford toweled up Jolly that afternoon. Looks good.

I think he's on their Rookie list - given choice of Blake/King and the whole history of Blake and Cats grand finals - I think Cats would have found themselves with only one Ruckman (King) come trade time.

This is a good trade - he's a kid and will develop.

I am ecstatic about this get...I was amazed he was behind Blake in the Cats team as Blake is frigging useless and I thought Mumford was a far superior player...I think he tired toward the end of the season due to being young and that brainless twit Blake got the nod for this reason.

When I watched Mumford play I was thinking how do the cats do it..keep getting good young players like this one..and here he is on our list...
