Cross gets off - no case to answer according to the MRP.
I am not surprised by the decision. They generally look to get players off during the finals if they can (if they are playing the following week). I would suggest that he would have gotten a couple of weeks had the Bulldogs lost. He was lucky though, regardless of Jack bumping Bolton, Cross lined him up and was attempting to take him out.
Footy Classified last night played up the fact that the Swans lost the game they should have won - pleased to hear that mentioned.
Lift those heads - Sydney's battered team should take pride in hard-fought season

Agree. Nothing like a bit of perspective. Now I'm over the loss, i'm thinking what a great year it was for us. We rose half a dozen positions, proved the pundits wrong, blooded some exciting players, overcame the adversity of key injuries, gave Roos and Kirk a good sendoff (several sendoffs in fact). Short of actually winning a GF, it's hard to imagine a more enjoyable year as a fan. A few downs and lots of ups.Leave a comment:

I'm very proud of this team for exceeding expectations and stamping itself as the seasons biggest improver. Next season will be something to look forward to.Leave a comment:

Also Mike Pyke. (young in football years)The good aspect of having so many injuries was that we had to blood new players which is something you can do in a rebuilding year where you are not a chance for the flag. If we were a chance we would be still playing. Contary to many predictions they did great and we were a better side for the efforts of Meredith,Smith, Jetta,TDL, and even young Reid. We also gave a brief experience to Heath,MOD and Vespa.Thats about 8 youngsters and throw in Hanneberry, you can see now our future is bright. Our team ended up a nice blend of youth and experience and although it was forced upon the coaches by injury ,it produced a side that did not get beaten by 100 points but a side which should have got through to the final 4.None of the youngsters seemed destroyed in confidence by the experience so why was there always so much fuss when someone said we should play the youngsters ? Beats me? I think this season shows what a great idea playing them was for this season and the future as well!.Leave a comment:

+1
We were only one win outside the top 4 this year. This week Goodesy has said we can be a top 4 team. Add all our key players we missed, add a year of expierience to our young players and I think we can go 2 wins better than this season. If injuries don't hit us as hard as they did this year 15 wins is a genuine possibilityLeave a comment:

Id say more like top 4 considering we finished 5th without a full strength listLeave a comment:

We certainly went a lot further than I expected. With a full-strength list I'd have us in the lower half of the eight, so it's a great effort to get up with all those injuries.
Just hope the loss of two core parts of the team doesn't prevent them from backing it up.Leave a comment:

Great season in the end. Many great highlights. The disappointing aspect is the times we have been beaten when leading by significant margins (tiges and Dogs) on the MCG.
Great seasons by
Jack
Smith
Mumford
Richards (2nd Half)
Bolton
See ya Kirky and Roosy thanks for the good memories!
By the way ease up on Cross nothing really in it. Both Ball players. Hope he doesn't miss any gamesLeave a comment:

Hear Hear, very nicely put Scott. It's been an interesting year.
At the beginning of the year, we were all excited by the amount of exciting depth we now possessed.
As players started to fall, so did our ladder position, and so did our hopes, and so did the so called depth we had.
It was looking like a case of how low can we go.
But then we got back on track, had a few hiccups along the way.
Pyke, TDL, seem to have cememted themselves a place in the top22
Smith who at the beginning of the year looked like he'd struggle to get a game, but found himself playing nearly all of them.
Jack and Kennedy have bolstered our aging midfield.
Seemed no teams wanted to finish 5th and winning our last 4 games, after the media had written us off, again, we found ourselves just outside the TOP 4.
Now it is history and the media should know, never write off the swans.
They will always do the extraordinary, when they are given no chance.Leave a comment:

Cross got a mention on the Radio, should be looked at.Leave a comment:
