Surprised they aren't complaining to the AFL that it wasnt fair because we beat them on purpose...North Melb supporters are fgast becoming a real pain in the rear end. Everytime they loose it's all mitigating factors that made them loose, not the fact they were beaten on the day by a better side. Latest excuse?
It was raining.
I mean seriously..
The weathers been crap in Sydney for a long while now..if the silly coaching staff went in with talls..then thats their bad luck for not checking up on Sydney weather.
What a bunch of horrible victims they are. I just wish the AFL would hurry up and merge them. They don't deserve a stand alone team in such an elite comp.
BTW great game yesterday. Shattered by Rohan.

Harf was just discussing the Rohan incident on SEN and the question they had was whether or not Lindsay Thomas had the ball first when his feet hit Gaz. Either way, it broke a leg.
I think the game was fantastic, but whenever I replayed bits of it in my head last night I couldnt get Rohan's image out of it, so I have been pretty down about the game.
A couple of things I noticed:
Although Everitt's game was his best yet, I am sooo frustrated at how he spills even chest marks. As has already been pointed out, he must have the slipperiest hands in football - he even has trouble picking the ball up off the ground.
I was surprised at how much ROK has slowed down this year - both he and White had the turning circle of the QE2
I thought Shaw was the unsung hero of the day. To see Harvey get frustrated was great to watch. I also thought Kizza had a brilliant first half and hardly anyone has mentioned him.
I also put my vote in for Rohan as a future FF. Without ever mentioning that I have said this before on RWO (see what I did there?) I think he has the leap, the hands and the pace to burn off a lot of full backs. The only thing he would need to learn is body positioning, however other teams wouldnt put a gorilla on him because of his pace.
I also think that, although Jesse and Dre had their best games in a while for us, they were hardly game-breaking performances. I think that they come from a pretty low base of expectations, so we were happy with their performances.
I also have to say that I am excited by what I have read about Walsh in the last 2 weeks.Leave a comment:

Apart from Rohan's Injury (which was just heartbreaking ) the game as a whole I loved it. It's a win so let's rejoice in that. Everyone played a part so now bring on Hawthorn!!!!!Leave a comment:

I thought his defensive work was just as important as his goals. I've never seen him show that much intensity. AT least one tackle led directly to a goal.Leave a comment:

Agree with this postI'm afraid I'm still not convinced about the value of 'Dre.
While we desperately need that 3rd tall target to distract the opposition from young Sam. I don't think 'Dre is a viable 3rd tall target up forward.
I'm glad he got on the scoreboard but despite the goals, not much has changed.
Even yesterday he was still unable to make an effective contest at the fall of the ball. Sure he has an enormous kick, but that's not new, remember that link to a kickout in the reserves someone posted? His disposal is still suspect, his first two efforts this week were miskicks. I was very please to see a significant improvement in his tackling, although perhaps his chasing could still be improved, as someone suggested last week he still seems to be growing into his body, and perhaps that's the case, but atm he's still lumbering his way around the ground.
It was his best game for the club and there were some positives but he is the worst contested mark for a bloke his size I have ever seen. He is unable to even put in a decent contest in the air and unless he improves on this (and his overall intensity) he is just going to keep being a teaseLeave a comment:

Everitts intensity in getting to the contest is very inconsistent. I noticed early in game he was slow as a wet week. He seems to start at the intensity of a ressies match and then flicks on a switch. I hope that this is just him becoming used to the speed of senior footy and what's required.
Everyone was going so mad on him in the first qtr. He does then seem to get down and get with it.
I thought that was one of his best games. He is definitely a confidence player so will have been a big shot in the arm.Leave a comment:

We did see him tackle on the TV, but when the ball hit the ground he just looks slow.Leave a comment:

He is an unbeleivable kick, if he can improve the other areas he'll take his oppurtunities in front of goal. Imagine if Sam could kick like that /Leave a comment:

Poor, poor little Ranga.
My heart is as broken as his leg.
Other than that tragedy ... what a fantastic game.
I'm always very pleased when we beat the boo-a-roos.Leave a comment:

Sorry I can't agree at all. He was good yesterday and credit has to be given for that performance.
Not sure it shows on TV but at the ground he was chasing and tackling as hard as anyone out there.Leave a comment:

Agree. His attack on the ball, or player with the ball just seems to lack effort/intensity.I'm afraid I'm still not convinced about the value of 'Dre.

I thought that was his best game yet. Hopefully his 50th will be remembered as his breakout game.I'm afraid I'm still not convinced about the value of 'Dre.
