Re: Grand Final - CARN THE BLOODS!
We knew at the ground when Jetta took that mark we had 100 seconds. I really panicked because I had visions of Jetta missing and the Hawks going the length from the kick in. When Mal put it though we went utterly nuts because we knew there couldn't be much time left. Siren goes and we hug, we cry, we sing, we dance and in among all that we remember to take a breath.
In a sense the feeling at the end was better than 05 because in 05 it was utter relief that we finally done it but Sat was just indescribable joy. The fact we win in the most heroic fashion possible will just add to the day. I will be enjoying this for a very long time to come.

My first post since the GF and this sums it up for me.Folks, that feeling of exhileration when the siren goes and you instantly go into raptures is hard to match. For much of the game I think most people react like they do at any game, but when the lady behind me said there was 34 seconds to go when Mal nailed that goal the feelings and emotions went haywire in anticipation of the siren.
Mum told me there 34 seconds on the clock and that's when I knew we had it - the best moment you could possibly imagine. The players knew too.Leave a comment:

Re: Grand Final - CARN THE BLOODS!
I thought the premiership party on the MCG was a great idea, and a cool way to give something back to the fans who couldn't get tickets to the game. Far better than having it at Punt Road or Fed Square, hope it stays! One of our friends took her 14-year-old nephew to the game as a birthday present, he'd never been to a grand final before and was absolutely rapt with the experience, it was great to be able to stay at the 'G as we couldn't take him to a pub, we all went to dinner in the city after the game, drank too much wine (red if course!) and met a Collingwood supporter with all her teeth (she blacks them out when she attends home games to fit in). Just a fantastic day all round.Leave a comment:

Yeah - loved Mumford's rock star look. I was very surprised they were all able to stay upright.Welllllll - if by 'rejuvenated' you mean 'managed not to vomit', yes. A few of the lads looked like they were on the last legs of a well-deserved celebration (or still in the midst of it). Good on 'em. Mummy in his turned-up collar, fancy trousers, and too-big, oh-gawd-that-shining-ball-in-sky-hurts-me Lou Reed sunglasses just staring off into the SCG in particular was brilliant.Leave a comment:

Had a quiet night with very dear friends after leaving the MCG - lovley pizza anc s nice red wine. But I did get breath tested twicE on the way home!! One inPunt road outside the ground and again when I turned off Punt road and went down Alexandra Pde a distance if 1.5 Kms between each - good thing I was sober because my passenger was plastered!!! But in all it was a long but bloody fantastic day I do love our Swans..Leave a comment:

Big tick to the AFL for the after match on the MCG. Was lucky enough to get a ticket to be on the MCG and celebrate the win. It was a terrific intiitive and one that was well received by everyone. I have a photo of me kissing the MCG turf on the way out and pinched pinched some grass from the hollowed ground.
Bought the Premiership posters and T-Shirt on the way out and then caught a tram into the city. The tram broke out into a version of Cheer Cheer which was approximately the 764th time that I sung that song - Shake down the Thunder? You bloody betcha we did.Leave a comment:

The Courthouse in Newtown was great yesterday, top atmosphere.
The lads looked OK today when they turned-up for the SCG welcome home, no stumbling!Leave a comment:

Awesome game yesterday. Just awesome. We have spent the day driving up the Hume beeping and waving at other Swans-decked cars. I love all my boys. So proud of all the young kids in particular and stoked for the guys that played in 06. I dont think i have stopped smiling
It's going to be hard to fly under the radar next year when we go back to back. I love this club.
Am i the only one who was more worried in the third quarter than the fourth? They had that building feeling in the last and i knew they could do it.
