Fantastic team effort. I was particularly impressed with the way we responded whenever the Bombers kicked a goal or two and tried to mount a comeback. No passengers, everyone played their role. Joey must have had the quietest 37 disposals in Swans history! I have no idea how they'll fit the returning players in when they're fit but it's a wonderful problem to have. Mitchell deserves all the praise coming his way too.

Hope Walsh is ok. The debut worked out well for the club and Mitchell but you don't like to see it happen under those circumstances.

Tommy instantly reminded me of Diesel or Sam Mitchell from the Hawks

they always look they have a stack of time with the ball to make great decisions

The play of the night for me was the ball from Kennedy on the wing into space for Jetta to run onto which he then tapped forward to the pop up sprinkler. Collected it cleanly, took a quick look around and marched in with little pressure and drove it home.

Reminded me of that tap on to Hanners in the grand final.... We are cruising now ladies and gents. Fingers crossed the bye doesn't disrupt things too much.

Agree with those praising Everitt and Morton.

Everitt played a really good game out of the back pocket.

Morton creates opportunities...A must in any forward line.

Everitt was very good & that's a few good'uns in a row he's produced. Much less convinced by Morton who should have had a day out last night, but was clumsy when he needed to be slick. I remain unconvinced.

As for Tom Mitchell, sigh....everything we could have hoped for. I think it was Huddo who said, while everyone has been waiting for Tippett to debut for the Swans, just maybe this kid is the real big story.

Tremendous effort from the boys, a real hard at it effort against a good side with plenty to pay for. A crucial win, that places us very nicely thanks very much for the second half of the season.

I was a little frustrated for large parts of the game at the ground. But afterwards, felt it was a really good win! I think the frustration came from seeing that the much-vaunted Bombers looked really ordinary and wondering why we couldn't finish them off much sooner. There were a few poor decisions too, notably when Jetta ignored an invitation to sprint along the wing and instead just bombed a 70 m kick to nobody at all. A few wasted efforts like that. And a few too many handballs into the corridor to players with 3 opposition on them. But Jetta redeemed himself with the long bomb. And conditions were pretty poor out there.

Had not seen Mitchell play or heard that much about him until tonight. All I can say is - wow. More of him please. Just incredible for a first game. A shame for Walsh who was looking a lot better than his last outing. Pretty good effort from pretty much everyone in the end. Really like how the back line has steadied again, after having to adjust to new personnel. Where do we find these assured young defenders, AJ and now Rampe.

I'll be very happy if we can take Adelaide next week. And if the SCG provide more exits out of Bay 4 than the current one narrow corridor down 2 flights of narrow stairs. Took an age to get out!

If Mitchell is called Diesel then he deserves it. They don't bestow nicknames of famous players easy at Sydney. Two weeks ago he got 56 possessions and last week in a different sort of game 30. He is the handball king just like Diesel. Between him and Lukie Handball is an Art. His d?but was very good and he just looked like he had been doing this forever. He will fit in nicely and even with retirements in the next few years we are in good shape. Lamb, Mitchell, Parker, Cunningham, Biggs, X. Richards, Membrey, Towers, B. Jack, Lloyd, Robinson and Brown have all shown they are willing to step up. Marsh and Dick have had limited preparation but Marsh is starting to show a bit but unfortunately Dick is injured again I think. Lockyer is also starting to get into the rhythm, he was good yesterday, after a horror run with injury last year. Add to that Tony A., Sammy, Jesse, AJ & Rooster and our youth stocks are just the best. I am very excited by the youth we have running around the park at the moment. Our experienced players are good (when they are on track they are the best) but these young blokes are proving to be just as hungry, mean and even more talented.

By the way I think X. Richards has the ability to be as good if not better than Stephen Silvagni. I know that is a big call but he just reads the play so well. Can't wait until next year to see him d?but next year. But as for this year we will get players back but I don't think anyone is a walk up start in our first 22 any more. I think if a player is not performing the coaches now know that it is quite safe to drop him and put a reserves player into the side to fill the breach and he will more than likely perform.

Wow! You don't ask for a nickname like that; it's given by others. But I suspect he may deserve it, just as Sam really does deserve "Buckets" (like St Kilda's Loewe).

I think we're a couple of wins away from doing that. I think if we can beat Collingwood, Hawthorn, Geelong and Eagles at home then I completely agree. But the Geelong and Hawthorn losses still grate on me.

Looking at the goalkickers list, it's hard to pin most of their positions down! It almost seems like we have a combined (forward/midfield)+2 rucks that have massive tanks and spread on turnover and just carving up some opposition teams right now. I think next season will see a lot, if not all clubs really drive the cardio and hard running up to match with the Swans and other hard running teams. Should the interchange cap come in, it could dent the game plan significantly unless they push the players to run harder for longer. I don't think we have the highest interchanges so hopefully the game plan can adjust to it, but boy is it so exciting to watch!

Any way you look at it, we are a seriously scary team for opposition coaches with Mitchell now in, Tippett to come in and some good cattle off the injury list soon.

Match committee will have trouble squeezing all of the talent into 22 spots.

There is a long way to go but the last two weeks has us back to somewhere near last September's form.

I suggest nobody plans overseas holidays for September.

Well done to Tom Mitchell on d?but. He was very good. Poor Tommy, I thought he was hitting the contest almost with venom. Really hard at it and he was pushing the Essendon opposition around too. Just when he starts to get the idea of AFL footy he gets injured, bloody sad but he will be back. Everyone good this week not a passenger anywhere and the kicking to position very good especially in the conditions. Yes, Birdie did play well and did so last week also but must admit had a couple of crap weeks this year as well. His fitness seemed to me to be a bit down on last year.
