Well said...yes the umpires made no difference to the result on Saturday. But still annoying...we do not get the 50/50 frees unlike the opposition. Buddy should have received 1, possibly 2 50m after his head was buried into the turf by Lake and Gibson. Anyhoo...does not matter now.

In the 1st qtr I think the frees were 5 to 2 and a couple of their ones were for shots at goal.

Stevic and Nicholls gave out 50 mtr penalties against us, but when Buddy got buried into the MCG turf with an elbow to the head, and had his face hit by Spangher - nothing. During the year if you touched someone in the head it was 50 straight away.

It didn't change the game but all the 50/50 decisions went against us.

It wasn't their decisions so much as non decisions. The fall into the back by rampe was paid, the fall at the other wasn't. The allowing Spangher and lake to belt buddy after marking was basically like watching country footy where backs are allowed to make forwards earn kicks.

Stevic is a terribly one sided umpire.

Stevic is a terrible umpire. Umpires didnt influence the result yesterday but stevic made sure he would get an invite to the hawks after party as he continued his usual level of awfulness.

Yep agree that the umpires weren't to blame. Although if you listened to the hawks supporters every free kick to us wasn't there!

When you go in harder, quicker, and with more intent, you tend to get those 50/50 calls.

Can't blame the umps on what happened today.

Oh dear. The 2012 GF had woeful umpiring and if last week is anything to go by, Stevic is still very much in love with the Hawks. I am worried.

Don't worry - the 23 players of Hawthorn still won't be able to beat the 22 warriors in red and White come Saturday!

Interesting indeed. It's a nice change of pace for Collingwood to think we were hard done by, but i guess that was before we used the COLA to pick up tippett and buddy so now we're just cheats [emoji12]
