And if Hawthorn lose, then we will move up to 16th on percentage. It will be quite an accomplishment if we could finish the season that high given our poor start. But I have confidence in this group. We can do it.

We got Callum Sinclair instead. Funny that Sinclair is good enough to play for the Swans, but Jetta isn't good enough to play for the Eagles. I guess we got the better of that trade.
Changes for Rnd 7 V Brisbane.

Can we bring in Jarrod Witts as a late replacement. 2 games in 2 days would not be too much to ask. Starred for the Gold Coast and he is from Sydney. Another great trade by the Pies. How did we miss him, twice?Leave a comment:

The acclaimed return of Mcveigh is mystifying considering his greatest assets were his kicking and endurance which are facets of his game that have deserted him since our GF loss in 2014.He has been a good servant, but surely Nic Newman who has similar attributes is more deserving of an opportunity.Leave a comment:

I think you are right, 6-8 wins and a bottom four finish are my expectations now.
Get any players playing busted under the knife the back half of the season so they are ready to fire on all cylinders next year.
Get 12 games + into guys that are genuinely potential first teamers such as Florent, Cameron, COR, Maubain, Hayward and possibly Newman.
Determine what Aliir's best spot is, I personally think it is as a winger or half forward, and give hi game time because he is too loose and probably too talented athletically to be a KPD.
Draft well for a top 4 pick and a couple in the 20s if we lose Reid or Jones
And win tomorrow FFSLeave a comment:

My guess is we will be like Fremantle last year, with some good wins in the second half of the year to avoid finishing last. Fremantle only won four games last year. I expect we will win about six and we do play Hawthorn twice.Leave a comment:

Not blaming Kennedy, but a change in leadership is ONE of the variables that has resulted a GF team to be 0 and 6 and at the bottom of the ladder.I agree. Junior does come across as fairly reserved, however, I don't see it as the captains sole responsibility to do all of the talking on the ground. Realistically, the captain is somewhat of a figurehead. On field leadership should come from most of the senior players. Buddy should be providing leadership in the forward line, Grundy and Smith in the backline, Jack, Junior, Parker and Hanners in the midfield. I don't think it's fair to blame Junior. He's been doing his job on the field, the others haven't.
Blaming the coaches doesn't hold up for me. The game doesn't evolve that fast that what we were doing last year is no longer valid.
Personally I feel it is a bit of post GF complacency. I'm sure there were expectations that we'd end up in the 8 again this year, even when we started dropping games we should have won.
After the 4th loss, panic would have started to set in, as well as lack of confidence.
There is less to lose now. Given our draw, tomorrow's game really is make or break.Leave a comment:
