    Hi all,

Full transparency from the outset, I’m not a Swans supporter.

If that’s an issue - and I understand how these spaces work - then I’m more than happy for this account to be deactivated.

What I am is a footy person. Someone who watches closely, thinks about the game a lot, and spends a fair bit of time trying to put those thoughts into words. I run a small website focused on the game through a fan’s lens, with an additional emphasis on the draft and the under-18 pathway.

I’m not here to push my work or drop links into every conversation. In fact, I won’t be posting any of my work unless I’m asked for it.

I’m here because these forums tend to house the most considered, passionate and honest discussions about a club. I’d like to contribute where I can, particularly around draft and trade conversations, and offer some perspective on the emerging talent pool. Just as importantly, I’m here to listen. To get a better feel for how Sydney supporters see their list, their direction, and the game more broadly.

The hope for me, is that this leads to more informed and more grounded writing on my end.

If I step out of line, miss the tone, or post something that doesn’t sit right, feel free to call it out. I’m not here to offend - I’m here to learn (and hopefully contribute positively).

Appreciate you having me (if you decide to let me stay),

    Tommy Wolfe

Personally, I'd be quite pleased with a bit of extra input in the academy thread. I've no real idea whether there's any rule about having to be a Swans supporter or not to post, so I shouldn't really speak for the rest of the site users, but if you were just chatting about things like, who our better academy prospects are or who we should look at drafting from outside the academy; then I don't see why there'd be a problem.

My dear big brother passed away yesterday after a long battle with cancer. Not seeking any sympathy, but just want to say he is a big reason why i've been a life long Swans supporter.

He took me to my first VFL match at the Lakeside Oval in 1971 where we defeated Geelong. Couldn't see any of the game being a little tacker in the standing room section behind the goals, till he hoisted me onto his shoulders to watch the last 5 mins of the game.

He later played for South under 19's, which i would regularly go watch him play at the Lakeside Oval being within walking distance, He was my hero, having the honour to don that famous Red V guersnsey.

He then later played for South Districts, who was coached by the great Peter Bedford at the time.

When South relocated to Sydney he gave up on them, because to him the club was dead. Sort of person who wouldn't change their minds once they've made their decision. He was miffed that our best and fairest is named after Bob Skilton.

He didn't hold any grudges against the "Sydney" team and has paid compliments on how the club is run and it's successes, same as any other team in the competition. I enjoyed our conversations about footy and sport in general. I will miss him greatly.
