Nah, I could never enjoy a Puppies win, especially whilst Bevo is coach and there is a Liberatore on the team.
Most of the time I have been following footy (since '96?) the Blues have not been good so I still don't care either way about them.

But this what our beloved sport specializes in. The trumpeting of its redemptive powers always needs a vehicle and at the moment
it's Hirdy. Bailey Smith is waiting in the parking lot. I hope GWS don't get suckered into the storyline, and if they can't get Clarko
they keep giving Mark McVeigh a go, even though he too was suspended. But at least he's actually from Sydney.

Can't imagine anything as bad as that.

Talking about Sheedy and books. Years ago I was at a Sydney Uni footy club function and Sheedy was the "guest of honour". He was very
entertaining of course and good at getting money out of people at the auction and he'd obviously done it a million times before.
Afterwards he went out to his car and came back with a box of his books which he set up on a table and sold signed copies to people
for fifty bucks. Whatever GWS were paying him at the time, I guess it wasn't enough. But then as Mrs Tigers said at the time, Kevin is
just a guy who is always selling himself. In our house we call the likes of Sheedy TSPs (Tireless Self Promoter).

It wasn't just a couple of cans. They made a mess of the counter in a flash restaurant and then the fight spilled outside. It took Melbourne quite some time to make a muted apology to the restaurant. The AFL is now on the case. They weren't the only players there. Apparently none of the other players tried to break them up.

Well one player was drinking while recovering from concussion and the other player broke his hand and needed surgery. I think the media attention is justified. Plus it coincides with 2 straight losses so the incident was the icing on the cake.

Meanwhile black participation rates in baseball in the US are currently at a 40 year low.
I'll be hoping for a Bombers win. It's better for us ladder-wise and the new Carlton bandwagon supporters are fairly annoying.
Unfortunately Carlton are a good team this year. Dislike them with a passion, starting from the 1945 “Bloodbath” and their cheque book premierships and then the Sydney saga. Trouble is that family members are supporters so I have to keep it to myself most of the time! I guess they should finish in the 8 but I’ll be happy if they don’t!
