I think I posted it in the match day thread in response to someone suggesting we rest players next week.

He (Rankin) was just moved forward for the last quarter. I think he played on the wing for much of the game.

I noticed Rankin kicked 2.1, which is odd.

For anyone watching: did they move him forward in the second half? Any chance they are thinking of him as a small forward understudy with Papley out?

If we need to find someone to replace Papley, a left field idea might be Lachie Rankin, who was sent forward in the final quarter, kicked two skilful goals and narrowly missed a third on the final siren.

Ta, thought it might have been from seeing it out of the corner of my eye. Whoever is doing the stats seems to be having trouble recognising our fringe players. Some of them were on no possessions at the end of the first quarter, when they definitely had possessions.

Saw there was a fair bit of biffo at the end of the 2nd quarter with Ladhams involved. Not sure if there was anything serious about it (looked fairly mutual but intense to my biased eyes) but Werribee got another free and a 50 from it

Gee the umpires are savage with their bias towards Werribee. Its good to see Ladhams doing some ruck work. One observation is the Swans Players love to score a goal for themselves. Gould have a ping from 40 m when a handball to a player running past would have been a certain goal and Kostansky decided to have a ping from 50 m when they was 2 to 3 better options about 30 meters out. Teamwork guys!

Yes, umpiring is doing my head in. 19-4 to Werribee. Are we supposed to believe, that their VFL listed players have a superior understanding of the rules than our AFL listed players?

All Werribee early, but more competitive later on. Normal service has been resumed umpire wise, with a 9-1 count to Werribee at quarter time. Roberts, Warner and Melican possibly our best.
