And Blakey, who's been a gun since he moved to defence, is still only 22. And Tom McCartin, who seems like a player well into his prime and an experienced pillar of our defence, is also 22. While the person who is now possibly our midfield leader, Mills, has just turned 25. Then there's Heeney, who having entered discussions as the best player in the competition, is still only 25.

Depending on the side, and sometimes the player, he or Hayward does. They’ve both done it well at times.

I had a look at the replay last night.

Gulden was outstanding for all but part of the 3rd quarter.
Warner's clean centre clearances were a highlight.
    Tom McCartin played a blinder.
Ben Ronke was excellent. Ran to space, clean ball handling, excellent delivery and was in everything when the ball hit the ground. His forward defensive work was serious stuff. Unless he loses all form I doubt Wicks can take his place. As a small forward his defensive side is way ahead of Wicks, and he wins his own footy. With Ronke in this form and Papley coming back our forward line looks very dangerous.
Peter Ladham's first half was very good.
James Rowbottom did a lot of grunt work and was consistent across 4 quarters and covered a lot of ground.
    The big ground suits us.

Hard to disagree with anything you have said and it’s really good to see Benny deliver what he has in the last two weeks.
Many had written him off without realising or factoring in the injury issues he has overcome in the last couple of years.
No one kicks 7 goals in an AFL game without having some ability, actually, no one gets a game at that level without being a talented player.
However talent will only take you so far and so many other factors need to be added to the mix for a player to have a career at the top level.
Some of us rate certain skills or abilities higher than others and that is just the way we are.
It’s just human nature to value certain attributes differently to how others rate them.
What seems to be appreciated by the match committee is that he has overcome injury obstacles and worked at his game to meet the needs of the team. Now it may be early days but the as long as he continues to work as hard as he has and fulfills the role assigned to him I think he will have a position in the team for a while yet.
I would add JMac as worthy of mention as well
    his last quarter was immense.
30 players on our list under 26 makes me excited to be a supporter of this team.
    Go Swans !!!!

Parker and McInerney are just off the pace, as well, with 15 votes each.

Not saying they need to be in the best in the comp but its a good sign if you have a small or tall fwd getting votes . They are the kinds of barometers for a team . Dont think we 've had any yet , besides Bud in rd 2

Midfielders tend to dominate as they are more in the play and hence dominate possessions. But you knew that, right?
