How does a player that just blocks without raising his arm gets 6 weeks and Callum Brown with a raised elbow get 3 weeks?

I don’t agree with six weeks, but not comparable.

Brown was going for the ball and then braced at the last half second or so when he saw McCartin was going to get it first.

Parker was not close to the ball when he chose to bump.

With regards to your last sentence, yes when Parker made contact, the ball wasn't close by. However, when I watched the footage last night on one of the footy shows, (Talking Footy or Footy Classified), when Parker goes to block, the ball is on the ground nearby and is kicked away by a Swans player.

I think 4 weeks is a more appropriate penalty.
