7 March, Rouse Hill: Sydney vs Western Bulldogs

Assuming we lose Rd1 of NAB Cup, I see that a possible game is scheduled for 7 March at Rouse Hill home of the Sydney AFL side East Coast Eagles (who have a link to the West Coast Eagles).

Wonder if we will play the West Coast Eagles.

    The ground is brand new.

My home ground for cricket...Hills Centenary is directly opposite the oval in Rouse Hill...the Bill Pursner Reserve.

A teamate in cricket is heavily involved in the East Coast Eagles and basically West Coast have agreed to play there if the Swans do not and/or ideally as you pointed out play each other.

The ground was approved for AFL last week or so.

Sensational - Rouse Hill is 5 minutes drive from me

As opposed to the mad struggle to get to the SCG....

There's a fair chance we'll play there considering the traditional attitude we've had towards the preseason comp...

177th Senior AFL Match - Round 4, 2009 - Sydney vs Carlton, SCG. This is obviously out of date. I suppose I'll update it once I could be bothered sitting down with the fixture and working it out....

The AFL have taken no risks - it's scheduled for the 3rd week of the pre-season, so if we somehow manage to beat Port, we would have to win another for us not to feature at Rouse Hill.

Money has been spent on lights too.
So game can be played at night if they want to
    Love those Swans

I heard that it will be a night game under lights. So dinner at the Mean Fiddler then onto the game. Game against the West Coast Eagles should be fun. Ground probably holds about 3000 so tickets maybe scarce.

Glenn, I suspect they will encourage people to park at Rouse Hill Town Centre and run shuttle buses for the trip to the ground and back.

You could get the 610 Hills Bus from Central Station to near the Mean Fiddler or a bus from Parramatta station along the T-way I think. May need to check the RTA site below. Bruce Purser reserve is on the corner of Commercial and Withers Rd Rouse Hill.

The T-Way bus goes to Rouse Hill shops, a block away.

Normally pre-season games are a bit of a waste of time, but as a regular on the NSW-ACT Footy board I'm keen to check out the ground. It's been a long time in coming, but it's looking good now.

A word to the wise, DO NOT RELY ON HILLSBUS. The worst transportation company in the history of the world!
As someone else suggested, park at Rouse Hill Town Centre and walk.
