You're a wonder, Frog. I can't wait to crunch these numbers.

I have them all spreadsheeted - what do you want to crunch, what order?
It still looks to me that there are few substitutes that work.
Perhaps someone should tell Horse that substitutes don't work. Don't use them yourself and make sure you use the opposition's substitute to your advantage.

Well I guess the most obvious (and therefore first) is to average out TOG to allow an easy examination of subs across clubs, accounting for outliers in TOG when it is outside, say, the Interquartile Range. Then measuring the effect each team is having with the sub player, broken down to round by round as neccessary to check for errors and abnormal values, and to run a similar measurement against the club OPPOSITE that the sub is playing for (ie is there a club that other teams are killing with the sub?).

As I said though, I'm more than willing and able to do my own dirty work when I'm a) sober (celebratory drinks: whahey!) and b) got time on my hands (which is over the next week, give or take).

The TOG figures, whilst extracted from Champion Data are not the most reliable. Between substitute and substituted, they are often greater than 100%.
I am still trying to source a more reliable TOG.

Also happy to share the spreadsheet. PM me your email address. (and let me know if you want 2003 or 2007 format)

I'd be guessing, but I think it was in the high teens.
    I'll check tonight.

Froggy, or anyone else for that matter, do you have the time during the quarter that they came on the ground? It would be interesting to see if the sub spends less time rotated on the bench than the other players.

I can find when the substitution occurred (at 3QT, during Q4, injury Q1) but not the exact time in that quarter (FanFooty Archives)
stats.rleague, footywire, AFL, Herald/Sun do not seem to list that info at this stage - I'm sure someone has it, just not yet ...

    Mummy 24 @ 50% = 12
    LRT: 13 @ 15% = 2

    Bogan: 35 @ 17% = 6
    Westhoff: 6 @ 33% = 2
