Sorry but how many clubs actually have properly qualified medical support and what consitutues as properly qualified? Some have people who have done a strapping course whilst others have fully qualified phyios and people with sport science degrees. Some clubs require their players to supply their own tape and contribute financially should they want to be seen by the physio whilst others dont so how would that be managed?
More importantly our physios know our players and their medical history and specific requirements - I cant see my boys receiving the same treatment no matter how qualified or good intentioned a stranger would be.

Some interesting posts there PK,
have to like this one ..
""One of the obvious options would be a requirement that the home team provide properly qualified medical support for both sides, at least at the lower levels ""
The possible costs and organisational savings to clubs as a result, could be worthwhile considering.Leave a comment:

"This is a far cry from the lows of 1998 when just seven teams took the field" Who writes this rubbish.....Interesting piece on The Roar today - looks like the growth in clubs and teams through the divisions has been noticed elsewhere.Leave a comment:

Spot on Mahatma, I think the warriors could possibly rustle up a few of the old green and gold jumpers for the those games too. If it wasn't for the Uni, the club would still be in the green and gold and known as the
Kookas, unfortunately the club had to change to stay aligned with the Uni and have the ability to use that great field (even though the Uni changed the name of the field from Roger Sheran Oval to University Oval).Leave a comment:

the colour change was the same year we came in.i think the uni forced them to change the name.like i said we are looking at a clash jumper so no one needs to change anything. so dont panic old muggie boyLeave a comment:

Usual protocol is first in best dressed.
So it makes sense to gain some measure of acceptance .
I'm pretty sure that South Sydney was a foundation member of the NSWAFL in 1903 and survived for some time thus it predates rl and could be seen as re-incarnation of the old club gaining quite a few benefits.Leave a comment:

Are you Doormat?I would think the AFL would rather a team called the 'Saints' keep the Red, White and Black before Mac Uni??
How many colour variants have Mac Uni had?? if they have not kept a consistent Red, White and Black why should they get first crack at the colour?
Why would we change our name, the junior club is the Saints. South Sydney is Rugby League through and through. We don't need to piggy back off them, they don't like AFL.Leave a comment:

i'm pretty sure we've looked into getting an alternate jumper for when we play mac uni. so that will be the only time we have to worry about it at this stage. as for the name i cant see it changing from Saints AFC for the time being i think the saint is trying to stir a few people up.Leave a comment:

Why not change your name now before the joint gets too big?
East Coast Breakers would be available !
Or the Maroubra Marlins....Maroubra Mullets....or even the Bra Boys
Would be an interesting clash when you play SHEgirls.
"SHEgurls V Bra Boys"
Might even be able to charge at the gate.Leave a comment:
