And it's farewell to Horse. What a legend that guy has been. He's off to Essendon to help McVeigh in a club performance style role. Half a head of footy, apparently across game strategy, player development, performance analytics and S&C, and the coaching group. With Essendon notoriously having the worst player development in the league, I suspect that'll be the main initial focus. It's a great get for them.

He's probably gone for a hundred different reasons, but a small one will be the leadership institute he created at the Swans has been essentially screwed by the Pullman stuff. "Want a course/speech on culture?" Yeah, nah.

Anyway, I love him to bits. He's been so good for our club, and one of the best people you'll ever meet.

seems to be similar but enhanced role to that at the SS. It looks like a football dept role not an executive role. Does this mean he is dipping himself into a more day to day role inthe actual game of footy .?

Yes .
John was not getting his hands dirty foottball wise in his current role with us. From what i can gather, he'll be more akin as a Football Director type at Essendon, working closely with McVeigh being his first appointed senior coaching role.

We had been blessed having Longmire at our club for near on 25 years and being the face of the club for most of them. In the coaches box for 2005 & 12 flags. It will be surreal seeing him in red & black, plotting against the red & white when we next meet.

Like others, wish him the best and thankyou for all his done in making our club great.

From Roos, to Horse and now Cox the club has been first class in managing the coaching transition.
