Quite an enjoyable and intense game. Shame that we couldn't eke out a win, but a draw might prove to be useful.

I thought that Snell was excellent in defence, with some strong spoiling and intercepting, while also being efficient with his rebounding. Melican and Bowman were also generally efficient, without being outstanding. Bice got plenty of it, and some of his offence was effective, but I find some of his defence offensive. Campbell went back to defence in the last and had some really calm and important rebounds. Wherever he was today, he generally looked to good for the VFL and should be back in the AFL very soon.

In the midfield we had the problem of Preuss and Mirkov getting so many hitouts to advantage. Which meant that none of our midfielders could really dominate. Dattoli was pretty good when playing inside. Phillipou did some very good work on the wing. Warner, Cootee and Rosas all had their moments, while it was the usual wholehearted performance from Shipley. And swapping between midfield and forward line, it was a big game from VFL lister, Sutton. Four goals and plenty of useful involvements in possession chains. I also liked the game of another VFL lister, Harrison. At times in the past, I've thought that his disposal skills were a bit dodgy, but today he hit pretty well every target.

So, I thought that there were plenty of decent performances in a hard fought and enjoyable game. It's just a shame that we didn't grab the win.

I maintain my long held belief that both teams should be forced to join a massive circle on the ground and sing that together after a draw haha!

Sounds like it was a really entertaining game, disappointed to have missed it while I was out and about.

    A draw! 13.13 v 14.7
Very entertaining - 13 lead changes. We could have kicked straighter, but then Willy could have used their stoppage dominance more effectively.

Haven't seen Andrew this quarter. Hope he's not injured.

Do these Victorian sides get to bring their own umpires?

Still slowly chasing down that lead. Phillipou has been venturing to the wing a bit more than usual and I've quite liked some of the stuff that he's done. Campbell and Snell continuing on from their first half efforts.

You need to defend more when your like Hannily and Cleary who get it 5x a game

I think that's Campbell spot as a half fwd/wing role player type - even as a jnr he would go long periods without being sited but when he does it's usually quality - won't make an AFL midfielder but i do like him as
a role player and even take a few centre bounces

Wish Warner would stop trying to be his brother ! play the ball on its merit, you dont have to create miracles with every touch.

Handy goal by Cootee on the siren to get the margin back to 47-51, after some nice work by Harrison and Sutton: both of whom have been really useful. However, we still have the same problems with hitouts and clearances. Although, we might be starting to shark a few more of their taps.

Snell has been snuffing out pretty well everything that came his way in defence. Andrew has had a few nice touches. And while the stats will say that Bice has had plenty of it, I'm not sure if his defence is up to VFL level. Further up to ground, Campbell is looking too good for the VFL and Warner looks dangerous whenever he gets it.

Bit of a fightback from the Swans, if Gibbs hadn't missed from 10m out we might have pinched the lead. Willy still dominant in the ruck, but our mids are applying more pressure so their clearances aren't so clean.
