Enjoyable start. It's nice to see the AFL, VFL and Academy teams all committed to playing fast, attacking football.

Mellis is a handy VFL list find.

It is isn’t it and I was thinking Mellis suits our style, will keep an eye on him
the 2026 crop still look miles away, Think Warner and Cleary are mids or bust at AFL level

49 points up 22 minute mark. They look good with the attacking style football being played.

I suspect that Mellis got thrown in the too small for the AFL basket, but he's not far off AFL standard.

Good effort to keep Casey to one goal with the wind. And that goal was due to a Snell clanger. Apart from that, Snell was playing a strong game. Hamling and Cunningham very good in defence, with Gibbs continuing his decent form. Cleary has provided a lot of midfield drive, while Warner and Hanily have had plenty of useful touches.

Pressure on the Casey ball carriers has been very good and it's really enjoyable to watch how many bodies are in motion, when we decide to move the ball quickly.

We look very well coached. It should be a good environment to develop the youngsters and ease their elevation to the senior team as we have a consistent style of play.

5 goals for Casey in that term, so the game is still live in Q4 as our lead is reduced to 27 points.

That quarter was less impressive. The connection between midfield and forwards was almost non-existent. Might have thought that the game was already won, but the team needs to lift, otherwise we could snatch defeat from the wide open jaws of victory.

The Brisbane Lions are sitting at the bottom of the VFL ladder. Could their form drop off if they get some injuries?

That Matthews for Melbourne is a shameless stager.
