Is Clancy Snell related to the KPD Patrick Snell already on our list? I haven't heard it mentioned so assume it's just coincidence but a more enduring version of the Fabulous Flying McCartin Brothers would be nice .....My opinion is objective truth in its purest formComment

The latest Cal Twomey form guide.
Cal Twomey's Phantom Form Guide: Top draft prospects' October ranking - https://www.afl.com.au/news/1633149
In that scenario, we bid on Matthews at 8 and take Harris at 9. Works for me.Comment

cals latest is not a PHANTOM draft , its a ranking of ratings of the prospects, Agree if actual draft ends that way. Tommy_wolfs PHANTOM has us taking Butler a mid at 9 (9 because of the matching taking place higher.) Harris is taken by Melbourneat 6and dever by richmond at 8, thats why my comment to him that clancy Snell a strong key defender who is taken later in his phantom would be a better bet for us.Comment

With their early picks, the Swans notoriously go best available (in their view, which may have been an issue under Beatson at the end). But Keane still takes that approach.Comment

I'm tipping we will surprise everyone by getting in earlier than necessary on George Dimer at 173 cm. That's how we roll.
No offence to you George - you may be a gun.My opinion is objective truth in its purest form😂 1Comment

Note: 2nd attempt at posting below as it somehow got spat out as spam initially. Apologies for any duplication:
ping my toe in reading some draft analysis and keeping in mind our pick 6 will likely slide to pick 8 after matching bids.
Whilst i understands people's anxiety with our history in early picks, we did good at drafting Logan McDonald (4) & Braeden Campbell (5) at pur previous opportunity in 2020.
Apparently McGroder (likened to Blakey with shoulders) is likely to nominate as our academy prospect and should get with a later pick. There is a school of thought should we think MGroder is suffice as a KPD, that we might select dynamic forward Arki Butler should he slide down to us. Seems unlikely, as Cal Twomey has him rated at #3.
Personally, i would rather pick 2 x KPD's: McGroder and 1 of Mitch Harris, Clancy Snell and Tyson Bradley. Cal Twomey has them ranked at #9, #13 and #16 respectively. He thinks they are the best KPDs with Harris the most likely playing senior footy next year.
We may bid on GWS Academy midfielder Ethan Matthews, whom Twomey has ranked at #8, as payback for their unexpected early bid on Harry Kyle last year. I hope not, as there is the risk GWS may decide not to match. He isn't our priority imo.
We currently have picks 6, 38, 39, 47 & 54. The first 2 to secure KPDs (including McGroder) and the rest bundling them up to pick next best available.
We might be willing on the night to trade down our pick 6 should we sense any of the prime KPDs, in particular Harris, sliding down the order. But that is also risky.Comment

it is possible we may split and slide down live if we can’t get what we really want at pick 6 but equally if we like a few mid to later first round picks that we can catch if the split is wide but no too wide ie first pick still not too bad such as -
guide (pick?6 ? 1,659 points), practical two?first?round combinations that match value or are plausible in trade talks are maybe -
Pick 8 + Pick 16 (example): one early?first + a late?first — common, close in value when clubs top up with a future pick or a small later pick/cash adjustment.
Pick 9 + Pick 15: similar profile — both first?round, balances immediate quality and depth.
Pick 10 + Pick 14: gives the selling club two solid first?rounders while the buyer keeps a top?6 talent.Last edited by Auntie.Gerald; Today, 01:19 PM."be tough, only when it gets tough"
