that is true one can interpret things to their own narrative

Anyway the club wouldn't be in this mess if it wasn't the actions of a foolish few. Period.

I think this behaviour is not a new one.
The fact that as a senior player you could do this brazenly in the hotel, when the entire staff is staying there and at a time when you were close to leaving Melbourne tells me that this behaviour is probably going on for a lot longer.

Maybe not all but I am sure there would be people in the club who would have known. It just doesn’t add up. This is an indictment on a lot of people along with the players.

I don't approve of the 'boys will be boys' BS at all. Boys will be boys >>> and boys get drunk >>> and boys egg each other on >>> and turn into potential abusers. It's all macho bull@@@@ and it's dangerous.

If a slap on the bum was the extent of the alleged sexual assault, we should see all 5 players playing for us next year and if so, so much for 'destroying their lives'.

If things turn out different, we can revisit but for now, you're bordering on hysterical.....and if you think the club is so 'hypocritical', you can stand by your 'high standards' and barrack for a different team if you like.

Or you can just calm down.
2 AFLW players charged in court on Drug charges, 2 weeks.....

Allegations against 5 AFL players, 6 weeks

So happy we have apologised to a playing group held to a different standard, did the Womens captain pull the male squad aside and take a photo in the middle of the SCG for her players being convicted on drug charges ? I must have missed it

This board is already struggling these days, with many of the regulars long gone. Nauseating campaigning and dominating every conversation isn't going to help.

If it is non-consensual then at very least its common assault, potentially sexual assault.

Carbone Lawyers - Lawyer statement just released is also scathing that there were leaders involved.
Not confirmed that the club officials / coaches were involved. He did not mention any details but it’s scathing of the club and the lack of transparency.

Now if that is true that there are officials involved, we as a club are a goner. And I would say that I agree with Ludwig we are going to be the new Essendon. There would be many people heading out the door.

That was a weak conference by Dean.

I know it is hard to answer but the question of club officials and coaches being in that room was dodged with no real strong statement. I think there will be more concerns and suggestions that a lot of the hierarchy in that hotel were aware and potentially involved.

I heard some of his interview and will take it with grain of salt for now. He sounded dodgy as and we've gone from them not knowing who the players were, to confronting Coxy in the foyer, to he or others were in the room. Not saying it's impossible, but you'd want to see some evidence for it. And Coxy has apparently flat out denied it.

And the club is now threatening legal action, whilst confirming no other club people were in the room

The Sydney Swans can confirm that all investigations carried out by the Club have consistently indicated that the only representatives of the Club in the room central to the police investigation were the five players who have been stood down.

                          I hope so.
That’s good on the club to come out with a statement quickly.

I thought under the circumstances Mills was good in the way he spoke. Mind you no captain can be trained enough to handle these situations.

Having worked in crisis comms, Mills was very good. Cox’s words were fine but the poor bastard looks a bit (understandably) fried.

I've long since given up trying to work out what is fact from fiction in the story of the 'after the sanctions' period. We will find that out in time, but there is so much muck raking, grubby journalism that will grab at anything, and now an ambulance chaser having his say too. Not worth the brain power to try and decipher it all until such point that there is genuine clarity coming from the investigation itself.

Yes you are right mcs. Let all the facts play out. Hopefully for everyone's sake the truth comes out. That's all that we can ask for.

Muck raking right now the number 1 sport. I just hope that the media gets their facts right before going hell for leather on details.

Thought Coxy and Mills did a great job. They have all had a trying week. Clearly they know more but cannot comment.

As for Carbone Lawyers, the less said the better. They are trying the players before the players even get a right of reply. This should all be done in the right theatre not on talk back radio.

Hope the team gets some respite and can actually put up a showing... it was good to see Tommy Mc, Brodie, Dane and Charlie Curnow in support at the press conference.
