perhaps we should go to nic and mgr to check if this is all true. If it is maybe we should look at what might be available if a club is happy to take him. If he is is grumbling about his treatment re Pulman Hotel night oerhaps he should grow up. If geelong is his choice see what they would offer, it would have to be its first rounder +, if its Suns the pick it gets for king + and if nth its first rouder +.
Can we afford to ley him go that is another ?. If CM was available to play in 2027 maybe, nut not if CM is unavailable . Snell and or Bowman (who appears imnjury prone) have some work to do.Comment

Even if he has the @@@@s, next trade period he still has 4yrs to run.Comment

According to Chris Keane: "We've had no indication from Nick or his management that he's keen to explore anything, so we're really confident that he'll be at our footy club next year."
So it looks like we have gone to Nick and his manager.Comment

It’s definitely a bit overs, but he’s contracted and the Hawks are in a window, so do it.
As for Blakey, he should grow up. And you don’t let players like that go unless you get something extraordinary in return and it’s players, not picks when we’re in a window ourselves. If the Cats wants to throw up O’Sullivan, you might think about it. But they won’t, so see you day one of preseason Nick.Comment

There’s an interview I saw somewhere earlier re the stand off between St Kilda and Geelong over Marshall with the Saints wanting a player involved. And Michael Voss was saying one of the sticking points to dealing with the Cats is they generally refuse to offer up players. It was one of the reasons the Blues were able to deal with us on Charlie last year. We were willing to convince Hayward to go.
Which is probably why Nick hasn’t approached the club yet requesting a trade. He’s got his manager sniffing round to see if there’s a club that’d put the right player up. And it’s all very unlikely.Comment

interstimg discussion/take on Nic on fox trading day review. . Seems like no one knows where the talk keeps coming from but they suggest hes worth 2 first rounders. Joey said not many clubs have this but threw up Melbourne as one with 2 picks inside top 15. geelong has nt got yhe trade capital to cover and besides they have R Marshall on the radar as well.
what is going on?

further talk on nic. afl.com (cal tomey) suggests this mornin he will cavas rival options in the coming days. He has not given up on a trade and unlike the others involved in pulamn hotel saga has not given his commitment to the Swans. But the latin words "Caveat emptor" (learnt in my legal studies many year ago. meaning let the buyer beware applies.
BUT is he wants out should we entertain it and get the best deal we can. melbournes 2 first rounders seems great (rivers a running half back was looking at returning to WA, not sure whats going on with him) and if dees want Nic (2 1st & maybe rerturn of our pick we got for JA) could get a deal done. WHAT SAY r&W online people. Could certainly use th picks for McGregor or another top un18 player.Comment

Id say there is truth in it but the reality for Nic is he is contracted for 5yrs on good money, in his prime.
This isnt a fire sale.
He could be held to this deal for 3 yrs and 2 x 1sts might still not be enough
He is better than Dawson at the same age and, in hindsight, we wouldn't take 2x 1sts if we had the upper hand on that deal
