A legend and a true Blood-always put the team first. Thought he would play one more year but he realised his body is exhausted for his standards. Hope the club finds a position for him- defensive coach maybe? KSAS, the three guys you mention will be needed for sure, but the experience we’ve lost will be hard to replace next year. Is this going to impact our window? Realistically, it must.

Mrs Danzar snd I were at the club guernsey presentation dinner a number of years ago. Ramps comes over, says 'you two must be important sitting here'. Plonks himself down and chats to us for the entire break between formalities. He was as quirky as we expected he would be. Waved and said goodbye (remembered both our names) as we were leaving at the end of the night. Top bloke. Amazing club man and player. Will be deeply missed by all.Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sectorComment

With Rampe's retirement, that makes it 4 players off our list alongside Blakey, Armatey & Cunningham. We have no unsigned players heading into 2027, so do we envisage there'll be no delistings and we head into the draft requiring 4 selections? (Not sure about the rookie spots).
2027 we have heaps coming out of contract, when Tassie comes into the picture:
Free Agents: Grundy, Chad Warner, McCartin, McLean, Lloyd & Hamling.
Out Of Contract: Sheldrick, Cootee, Cleary, Corey Warner, Jordan, Dattoli, Phillipou, Roberts, Hetherton, King, Bowman, Chamberlain, Snell, Ladhams, Riak, Hanily & Green.Comment

Don’t really know, but it means a lot of work for our List Management guys- however there are a lot of players coming out of their draft contracts so these will be relatively easy. My main concern regarding our senior players is the Chad- I’d hate to lose him as he’s a talent we need in the team. I think it will depend on how we go in 2027- losing Blakey is still disappointing- money turns players’ heads unfortunately.

Just to clarify slightly. Adams, Amartey, Blakey and Cunningham have come off our main list, while Rampe comes off the rookie list. I'm fairly sure that Edwards has to be promoted off the rookie list. So that leaves three vacancies on the main list and two on the rookie list. Although that assumes that we stick with our current 37 main and 7 rookie mix. It's possible to go to a 36-8 mix or a 38-6 mix. With Rampe's retirement, that makes it 4 players off our list alongside Blakey, Armatey & Cunningham. I may be wrong, but I thought Edwards was added to the main list last year as there are limitations on how long a player can be retained on the rookie list

According to the AFL Record, he was still on the rookie list this season. Now he needs to be upgraded due to the time limitations.Comment

It appears I’m on my own island re concern about losing 4 defenders
Rampe
Blakey
Cunningham
Mills for most of 2027 if not all
does everyone feel comfortable with our ressies and or Melican / Hambling to get us through to the GF?
most importantly be a defensive back 7 rotation that can dominate the top teams ?
who are your replacements that will ensure our back 7 rotation are as strong as when we had these 4 starting in our side ?
for me I just can’t imagine that is possible yet here we are heading into 2027 with arguably better me of the weakest backline in the top4 teams
Rampe - ?
Blakey - ?
Cunningham - Lloyd maybe ?

Oh no I'm really worried. Our backline was already our weakest area before the trade season. I was amazed that even without knowing we'd lose Rampe or Blakey they didn't go after any defenders. We are in desperate need of a KPD to backup McCartin. We are arguably one KPD away from a flag. And we did nothing. Really worried about defence next year. Especially after an inevitable injury or two.It appears I’m on my own island re concern about losing 4 defenders

The silver lining is Blakey and Rampe cant be played as undersized talls or as the 3rd tall.

Like every team we are vulnerable with tall defenders.
Tom, Will and Hamling/Melican is enough.
Mills will obviously been missed.
Sydney have a knack for not missing players that leave, mainly because we play them out if position.
Dawson, made 2 GFs since he wasnt a loss but... we didnt play him as the game changing mid he is
Ollie, in and out of the side, 2nd Carlton B&F as a regular
Hayward, we played him as an undersized fwd, would be a 50goal fwd as the 4th tall
Parker, not played and played fwd... found a role at NorthComment
