Kerr is contracted.

Roos made it very clear yesterday Swans will not approach any contracted players unless their club keen to get rid of them (doesn't seem the caseat WCE) or "available" ( all better placed clubs pass or don't offer enough)

The "talk" of Swans going hard for him, is more likely to try and inflate his value to the eventual highest bidder.

He would be a great playing addition but the cost to secure him and beat all other suitors, likely to do more harm than good!

Sadly, I think the Kerr option is a realistic necessity. Post Willo and Maxfield we desperately need a creative and skilled centreman. Our lowish picks and recycles need careful development. He may help keep us in the top half while that happens. It seems earlier options like Tadhg and Mal can't be released from rebound roles and physical decripitude. The Swans have a selective view about dickheads.

Well, this is my first post here. I agree with you bodgie. We have been sadly lacking since Willo and Maxfield departed. Willo was hugely instrumental in our glorious 2005 premiership.
I still have glimpses in my mind of him running the ball out of the pack, with elusive speed and determination and he always disposed perfectly.

Many here sell the player group short. Kirky and co., would be well aware of Kerr's reputation and it's better that it's been exposed now and they know what to deal with. If Kerr comes to the Swans he would be told in no uncertain manner what was expected of him. Look at the way Bazza was dropped from leadership group and has done himself irreparable damage.
Although Davis proved to be 'unfixable' he still played a pretty important part in 2005 success.

The thing is, would you rather have Kerr on your side or playing against you?

People often say that one bad apple can spoil the bunch, but I think people forget that a good bunch can repair a bad apple (assuming we're not talking fruit here). A bad boy getting further into his 20s could well be ready for a positive lifestyle influence from people such as Kirk, Roos etc...

Forgetting his obvious benefits on the field if we got no other bad boys in the off season than Kerr I wouldn't be too worried. If we got Kerr, Didak and Cousins in one hit you could be looking at a change of culture, but how likely are ALL those deals?

I'd love to see Kerr in red and white.

I dont like Kerr as a person but as a player i rate him better than Judd even at his best at WC.

Ditto he is a game breaker and will probably win a brownlow before he is finished - Players of this calibre do not come up for a trade chance very often, the Swans should offer whatever it takes to get Kerr .

I really think we need to get rid of this 'holier than thou' attitude to our players. Our players are not perfect. I want to see my team play in grand finals not wonder what it would be like to go out for a beer with them.

Forget Kerr. Good player, when he is on the ground. Make allowance for injury and a couple of suspensions per year and whats left ?

There are limits. I would have thought being recorded by the police whilst talking about possessing Ketamine to a drug dealer suspect would be over that limit. Just for the record Ketamine is used in the horse racing industry as a sedative. It is also a notorious date rape drug.

Ketamine aka Special K is also a popular party drug reasonably widely used in nightclubs, often in combination with ecstacy, ice, coke etc. Don't necessarily assume that it is always used as a date rape drug - there's a bit of media hype with that sort of tag.

Anyway I agree that a professional footy player caught up in that sort of stuff is well worth keeping away from.
