Asked it Hall was totally committed, Roos said "absolutely".

Hall will still head to Perth this week for a training camp with former world light heavyweight champion Danny Green, but the 31-year-old assured Roos that it's just to help him be physically prepared for next season.

Good on ya Baz ... that's right, go and get "physically" prepared to bash someone's head in next year.

Didn't think Barry would break his contract with us. I think he is a fairly moral person (even if he does have a temper). Have certainly got more respect for him than I have for ROK. If after he plays out his contract with us he goes into the boxing ring I hope he has lots of success there as well.

BARRY Hall finally picked up the phone and called Sydney Swans coach Paul Roos this week to end speculation he was considering walking out on the club for a lucrative career in the boxing ring.

Lots of 'Yeahs" but you forgot to throw in the copious "yeah, nahs" that would have punctuated the conversation.

Sounds to me like he's just taking Green for all the coffee he can get.

"I will take some training and have some sparring sessions," Green said. "I think with Barry, it is a legitimate offer that we are going to extend and I believe he has got an interest. He has not given any definites, but I can smell anticipation."

My worry is that he will come back as God forbid a METROSEXUAL! Green was the first and last metrosexual to take the glove. Had as much punch as judy. Get him outta there Roosey FFS.

Who says we need to go to the bottom of the ladder?

If we play the kids it may happen but the point is we need to start looking ahead otherwise we are setting ourselves up for a massive fall. What happened to Carlton could happen to us 10x over if we keep following this "top up the list" road.

I do agree that we have to start looking to the future but if we do it too quickly and start getting rid of our quality players like hall we will drop pretty quickly down the ladder.
I think the attitude Roos has is that we can sort of rebuild more slowly, we gave 3 kids a real chance this year and maybe another 2 or 3 next year and then the year after and reinvigorate the list that way while bringing in experience aswell and maintainging our ladder position.
There just seems to be an attitude out there to play all the kids and if we do that we will go down the ladder im not against reinvigorating the list but it should be at the expense of Luke Ablett not Barry Hall.

The other important thing is that going doen the ladder nowhas no rewards because of the two new clubs taking all the draft picks over the next few years it makes playing too many young guys at one even less advantageous.

But i do agree that we should be playing some young guys but not so many that we go too far down the ladder and not at the expense of our good player.

Thank you so much liz I am so sick of people saying they want us to play kids and go to the bottom of the ladder i HATE seeing the swans loose and years of rebulding from the bottom would break my heart.

Yep, I think Hall will see out 2009 for the Swans before he takes up boxing.

But would he be guaranteed to actually hit his opponents?

Might get a case of crocodile fingers & miss everything. Or slice his punches to the right like he does at the SCG, or in Grand Finals.
