From Sydney's Sunday Sun-Herald ... (had a whole page devoted to it)
Hall may be a contenderGreen confirmed he had offered Hall a contract. If all goes according to Green's plan, Hall would be stepping into the ring for his first fight in early to mid-2009.
"I've offered Barry what I think is a tempting deal," he said. "The contract is with him. He has to sit down and discuss it with his advisers. I've laid everything out on the table."
The original article's by-line said something like "Swans fans aren't going to be too happy". The on-line version has been edited.
Green would be better off concentrating on dancing.Leave a comment:

You'll find contracts aren't worth the paper they are written on. We will not be competitive next year and I doubt the Swans will put up a fight if Pugilist Barry decides to walk. They'll save $500K.We have a contract with Big Beamish. We should go for the KO with the mouthy creampuff out west and remind him of the potential liability of those who induce breach of contracts. Its been a vintage year for spruikers and wideboys undermining the club - Thommo, Petrodollars and now this wanker.
Let him walk.
A new thread on our next FF I say. I nominate Bucky!Leave a comment:

Roosy has said that Hall will stay on in 2009 but obviously Green is trying to up the ante.
Hall will most likely play out the whole season but another incident early on similar to the whack on Staker will give him the chance to take the boxing contract.Leave a comment:

Can only hope that would be Adam Hunter! If Roos was that concerned about Hall and what he was going to do next year - then why didnt Roos call him and ask himself instead of doing his usual "I will get to you through the press" @@@@!
I hope that Baz has a blinder of a year - then jobs who ever he likes in his last match Alister Lynch style!

Can't say too much..but next time you're talking to Hall ask him what a Royboy is...lolLeave a comment:

I find it highly unlikely that Roos doesnt have every players mobile number stored in his own phone - Halls in particular. He apparently had no trouble calling another player to tell him he was no longer wanted - so I reckon he could have just as easily called Hall to ask what his intentions are. and with respect, you aren't Barry Hall are you? ;-)Leave a comment:

It is possible that Roos is unable to call Hall cos he is on annual leave.
I know i wouldn't be too impressed if my boss called me during my legal break!Leave a comment:

I'm glad he's confirmed he'll stay. All he needs to do is get his head right and he'll be back to his best in 2009.Leave a comment:
