Sadly, it meant I could still hear the guy in 7E145

All depends who turns up. Swans of the last 15 h&a games of 2014. Or swans of 2014 grand final.

Must say, seeing patful (sp?) Today he would have been a great pickup. Unfortunetly the Melbourne AFL decided we couldnt have him, but Hawthorn can have frawley.

Going into this game as underdogs (as we like it) so should do well.

Our performance left much to be desired, but PA are far from top form as well. Freo butchered the ball more than we did, and they were playing in dry conditions, and still managed to win.

Ebert and Wines are looking very sharp though and Boak has to get tagged (probably by Bird). I don't know if we will have an advantage with Pyke an Tippo against and underdone Ryder and Redden, who hasn't played at senior level in 2 years. We have to win the midfield battle to pull off a victory. But probably the main thing is to be hard at the contest for 4 quarters.

I think we can and should win.

a week is a long time in footy

when we can bring the game into our tempo we can control a game then put on 4 or 5 goals in the last qtr or so

we can do that in this game coming up too !

Last night Barry Hall was having a bit each way ~ he tipped Port on Teams and us on 360! Newman tipped us on the footy show.

Maybe reminding them of how good they can be , reinforcing their self belief systems , calming their nerves, helping them release negative energy works better than berating them, making them feel awful about themselves.
Maybe it's just the guided walkabout tour by a very calm and thoughtful indigenous Australian in the Blue Mountains I did today that has me thinking about positive vibes versus negative . He was really excellent .
Compared to what I wanted to do to them I thought Horse was restrained and measured at Qtr time last Saturday.

Oh, well Horse could obviously point out that they haven't played their best and threaten to send them to the naughty corner with no oranges.

A bake was deserved after that 1st qtr.

Maybe he's actually saying that to them but doing so by yelling it in order to get the message home. I'm sure he'd be aware that berating only works once in a blue moon and is a method to shock the players into action. The days of dishing out negativity and criticism every quarter like Barassi did are gone forever.
