    2026 Season

    Not sure if it might be easier to just have one general thread? I do think we should consider moving it to the main RWO Chat once the men's side are done for the season.

    Sofia's ankle injury, following on from Brenna's knee, looks to be a fair blow after a fairly encouraging start to the season.

    Could do with Zippy signing an extension sometime soon.

      Ally signing on until the end of 2030 is wonderful news, there kept being persistent suggestion the Melbourne clubs were interested so great to have her locked away for a while. Now just to sign Zippy!

              I have thought making a comment about AFLW in general throught out this season of watching the Swans girls on tv.
              Firstly the commentatots are biased ands secondly I consider the umpiring to be very poor , they play frees from a long wayaway from the game and are very one sided. Today was a perfect example with many frees going the way of Nth but for the same thing for the swans it was ignored. The SS girls did not deserve the thrashing they got today (Nth is very good but not that good) . I wish allie the best it odes not look good, another long termer for us.

                  Interesting point on the standard of umpiring/making calls from a fair way off the play- I do wonder if this is the level of umpiring in lower leagues but because it’s televised it’s a little more glaring. I believe they use the same number of umpires as AFL level, I wonder if the league needs to look at how they’re coached to provide coverage across the ground.

                  Ally being out is (obviously) massive, with Sofia and Brenna already out that’s 3 AA level talents out of a team playing 16 a side- just a massive injury toll to overcome.

                      mabe it is also from where they come from. I know in our local league the umps (2) are closer to the play than aflw umps are.Are they trained the same way. who does the teaching because most look amatuers.

                          obviously redandwhite members are not interested in aflw . The Girls are still part of the swans. Most of my mates won't watch aflw either its a joke is their comment. The game and girls have improved since the beginning of aflw but something that has not improved is umpiring. Here they are amateurs (particular those that umpire the ss in sydney) under 14 umps in our local northern district assoc in vic would be better. They today in particular are treating the game like nrl, just tuck the ball under your arm and go for it as long as u are tryimg to move the ball forward NOT trying to get rid of it properley. They are indeed one sided here.
                          The other thing that is attrostius(besides my spelling) is the commentators in sydney ,they too are pathetic and almost turn u off. FOX Get some decent commentators

                              what a wayu to win. performance by molloy sensational. now fort fd last game b4 finals.
                              dont expect m uch here except forr experience. not like the mens team who thrw a chance for a ps away, the girls have seson ending injuruies to 5 players with at least 3 or 4 are to prominent an excellent players
                              so good luk girls get on bopard red and white members
