Ralph, how many NEAFL games have you watched? Familiar with the non-AFL sides and their lists? Are you aware that the WAFL, VFL and SANFL competitions are full of sides that also have no listed players in them? The NEAFL is about as good a hybrid eastern states model as you can probably get, and I'd argue the non-AFL teams are getting better every year. I wont argue the NEAFL comp is stronger than those footy states but what's "stronger" or "better prep for AFL footy" is debatable - e.g. SANFL has more bigger bodied players and a better top 10 in each team but NEAFL game styles across comp are more similar to what you see in the AFL. I think that second question would need to be a resounding yes to make it a better option to be out of Sydney and on flights so much more. In dreamland ressies before ones for every AFL game would be lovely, as most things are in dreamland.
