The telling part of that article is suggesting he explored a trade to the Gold Coast to be near his girlfriend at the end of last season. Though the article is well off on his salary, suggesting $1m a year, which is wrong. Which makes you wonder if the rest of the article is right.

And Sam McClure is a known f-wit, who famously declared Reid had told West Coast not to pick him and predicted they weren’t going to under any circumstance.

I'd sincerely love him to stay but if the above is true, he's nothing but a spoilt brat.

The road to appeasement is a long one

He could kick 6 gls in a GF and it wouldn't be enough, someone "affected" would still turn up with a placard and coincidentally be captured on camera

Id get out of the joint too

I think the supporters are past the things that happened as far as the club related sanctions are concerned. Club gave a proportionate sanction for a group that went rogue and got caught. Period. Supporters are ready to move on so the road to appeasement is not a long one as far as the swans supporters are concerned.

I think the club needed to get past the issue and reduce the pressure on all the people who had not done anything. And the focus was brought back to football. So good on them to be strong then.

what happens from here on will depend on police enquiry which is not a club matter. And as far as I have read Nick has not been removed from the suspect group based on the police statement. So what is he upset about - For club to look after the club, to look after players who were not involved, or for allowing him to play while a police matter is still ongoing.

Maybe he is upset about the language used during the counselling by the club and that is fair enough. But other than that I would say - you shouldn’t have been in that situation yourself in the first place - witnessing something without raising alarm, or actually somehow been involved.

Story moves fast..... Was laughed at 4 pages ago about Blakey wanting out, 20 pages ago we were disgusted by his conduct.

Now there is talk of moving to be closer to his girlfriend (during a SA investigation)

If his mrs can forgive him after knocking out someone's teeth with a sex object, then I can too

Mods, im pretty sure I no longer need to provide a link to a story for credibility, just go to any website talking footy

The rumour about the sex object was rejected by the club. It hasn’t been mentioned since the first day or two since the incident.

Yep, but at the time it did help people feel comfortable with the club sanction and potential life ban for these players

The talk to move closer to his Mrs was last year, not this year.

Making stuff up to suit one's narrative makes one just look silly. No one was talking 'potential life bans' or using rumours about sex objects to 'feel comfortable with the club sanction'.

                    Absolute revisionist claptrap.

If he wants to go let him go, probably says more about his character then anything else i'd be happy for all of them to be traded. he will be in high demand so the market should help us retain his value - Melbourne have 2 first rounders and Norths have have a couple of good picks -IF it's true see ya

Incorrect. If anyone ever chose to sue RWO for something they considered defamation, a defence of "just go to any website talking footy" isn't going to cut it. You (as primary publisher of the comment) and RWO (as host) would need to establish precisely which "other website talking footy" and then defend the reliability of that source. So that's why you should be specific about your sources NOW.

I've not deleted the rest of the post you made because I don't think there is anything of substance in it, but this principle of citing sources specifically remains.

It seems he wants to go north to be with his girlfriend. Not sure what Gold Coast has to offer in return, but if the price is right then let him go. I appreciate I’m entirely biased and influenced by both these latest events and Blakey’s performance in the 2024 GF, but a high draft pick might be the best outcome for all parties.
Pure speculation of course, but since the partying revelation I’ve been wondering if such behaviour impacted the team’s performance in the 2024 GF. The sheer unprofessionalism of it all seperate from any criminal investigation is just gobsmacking to me.

Totally agree with you Kafka’s Ghost! ( Btw, love your username). As much as I appreciate club loyalty, I’m a firm believer in letting a player go if he wants to leave. The club is always bigger than any individual player and as good as the Lizard can be, he does some daft things quite often. As long as we get a fair deal, unlike with Dawso, go to Gold Coast if that’s what you want and hope they languish mid table where they belong!
