It will be interesting to see what the fall out re the retention of the 5 players are. Those that have got contracts (long term ones being Heeney and Blakey) vs those that have a decision to make within the next one or two years (Warner and Jordon). Not sure what Bice contract status is.

Independent of the club taking on position on the 5 players individually, I wonder whether the players mindset will be
a) I am tainted and have lost the trust of the club/playing group/want a "fresh start" and will want to move on.. or
b) whether they would feel a duty to right their wrongs and prove that they want to redeem themselves at the club.

This I think will give you a fair insight into them as characters and the loyalty to the club

They have screwed up themselves, but the club making a OTT decision without a view to further review pending a Police investigation is throwing them under the bus. This is a bigger circus going fwd than it had to be.

Lost trust with playing group etc etc

There isnt a player in that group that doesn't want to play the 1st final without them. Playing group would have been happy with a Suspension and hefty fine til finals/outcome.

Love the Swans hypocrisy of the AFLW team and overshadowing their first win of the season and first double header..... Clearly no issue talking about the overshadowing or impact of their footy season

I think every club has had moments they are not proud of. As a Swans member I like to said "I am not impressed with board's decision" . It appears they are bowing down to the woke media and the feminists of this world. My first reaction was a substantial fine with the money going to charity,25,000 plus and then the suspension until the facts are presented in a police report , maybe 2-3 weeks maybe 4-5 weeks.and not say rest of the season. Also talk of drugs found. Why were the 5 players concerned not drug tested? It seems the board care nothing about members and only outside sources. If we lose both finals by 20 goals, who does it benefit? I guess the feminist will be happy even though they will not even watch one minute of the game.If the allegations are true then impose severe penalties, if they are made up stories I will be very upset.

Take the assault charge out of it for the moment, the suspensions would have been the same.

It makes me sick to the guts when I hear people using the 'boys will be boys' excuse, or 'everybody has had these wild nights out'. No they haven't! Just because an individual and their mates have done a similar thing doesn't mean everyone else has. I hate people justifying dickhead irresponsible behaviour by claiming it's part of growing up or is normal behaviour among young males. People who undertake dickhead behaviour can only lay claim to one thing - they are a dickhead.

Drugs were taken, it's just been confirmed from a police source....so I reckon the players admitted it and the club didn't have to 'prove' it.

Maybe it's time to just hold back a bit on the 'attack the club' to 'protect the players' rhetoric. It's starting to look a bit foolish.

The ABC’s report says police sources allege an “arrangement was reached ... to pay extra to take drugs, believed to be cocaine, from the women’s breasts and buttocks”.

It’s not suggested the Swans players were responsible for the drugs being there or they took them, only that they were there.


Lovely look for the players and the club. I am no saint but it doesn't put the club or the players themselves in a great light if true
