Correct.. he shouldn't be making these comments parallel to a police investigation. EXACTLY. That is why there are good lawyers and bad ones.

Totally ****** up situation. What a right old mess.

Never have the actions of a few derailed such a season.... impacted other players and staff and families.. let alone the supoprters

You might find it interesting to see what kind of offerings they have and what customers might expect.

They guys thought they had called "Poetry Girls Melbourne", where Librarians will come to your room and read you a bedtime story until you fall asleep. All just a little misunderstanding. The guys must have been shocked by the unruly behaviour of these librarians and may have thought they deserved a spanking.
Poetry Girls Melbourne - you made me laugh (a lot).

        Velour and Ruffles...

I just relistened to the interview with the lawyer from Carbone.

He alleges that the club has not been transparent with the Police. Firstly what does he base this off????? Has he heard and/or received any evidence from the Swans themselves to be able to compare with his clients testimony??? I highly doubt that the Police would share this with him. As they are in the process of investigating whether any malfeasance has taken place, it is practice for the Police not to share any information between the aggrieved parties UNTIL charges are laid to corroborate and prove deny or otherwise. Charges have not been laid thus far.

I 100% stand by my earlier comments.

Actually I think that it is you who needs to grow some brain cells... as anyone with any modicum for a fair and due process would reserve judgment.

the club has handled this fairly poorly and to be honest you can't win out of this. We need to follow due process, but this doesn't end well for anyone whatever the outcome

Have you got me confused with another poster? I genuinely don’t understand the point you are making, what it has to do with me or why you think I need to grow some brain cells.
My earlier post essentially boiled down to the fact that I have a distaste for low rent lawyers who litigate through the media rather than courts. Maybe I am biased but I put up with their nonsense constantly as part of my job.

Firstly, sorry that I've been only sporadically around recently. While I have been doing some monitoring of the site, I lost my password a while back and have only recently been able to log in again. Also, as for most Swans fans, this week has been tough and I've not wanted to think too much about events.

I have just read through this thread and would like to thank everyone for - in the main - keeping the discussion fairly civil and not dealing in wild speculation. That said, given the heightened risk in these circumstances of any social media medium being subject to legal threats, I am going to go back and delete a handful of posts that sail close to the wind. I acknowledge I am being overly cautious but I hope you all understand why.

Going forward, please bear the following in mind.

There is a huge amount of rumour, speculation and (likely) embellishments and untruths swirling around. If want to report what you have read elsewhere, make sure it is from a reliable media source of the kind that has its own editorial standards and defence lawyers in the event that it is sued. And always provide a link to where you read that information. Other social media sites (X, Reddit, Big Footy, Facebook etc) do not meet that standard, nor does anything you heard on talk back radio. If you report some information that is not from a reliable source and if you do not provide a link, it will be deleted.

Please refrain from commenting on - including providing you own opinions or speculations on - the motivations of the complainants or their lawyers. These are the people most likely to sue an impoverished site like RWO and we have no resources to defend ourselves.

You can all help me by using the 'report post' function to draw to my attention any posts you see that don't adhere to the above. I can't be here all day and the thread has - and can - grow quickly.

Thanks all for your understanding and assistance.

Edit: I've deleted somewhat more posts than I anticipated when I wrote the above. Please don't get upset if you post has been deleted. It's not an observation on whether I agree with what you wrote or like/dislike it. I am principally looking through the lens of "is there a >0% chance that someone might threaten legal action for that post?" And, for what I hope are obvious reasons, I have focused particularly on comments about the lawyers involved.

If you see a post that hasn't been deleted that you think fails the above tests, while one of yours has been, please don't get angry. Just report said post and explain to me why. It is highly possible I've missed one or not applied the filters consistently, particularly as I've tried hard not to delete more posts than I felt I had to.
