If the police investigation determines that there is no case to answer for I would say no. That would be determined by many as an admission of guilt.

I would certainly agree that they should address the Swans staff, but leave it at that.

The alleged offence was against the women involved- so if an apology is needed maybe it should be to these women as I don’t think our “miscreants” meant any offence to women in general. Please don’t think I’m defending their alleged actions in any way, because I’m not- however these women should not be compared to the girls in our AFLW team or to other women. It is possible that there were or are some financial issues involved with these particular women though I’m certainly not condoning any alleged actions by our players nor mitigating their alleged offences in any way. Just stressing that surely we can’t extend their actions against all women!

Lets just wait for the police findings.

i think the women of the club were upset,so an apology would be needed.

The players will apologise only for their actions and as a result bringing the club into disrepute and taking the focus away from the club and its staff and players. They won’t read out a statement that somehow results in focus on the actual facts. Not necessary till the police action is completed.
The longer this goes on the more frustrated the 5 players would become. I think and I hope that this should all be sorted or charges laid by the time the preseason starts otherwise there is too much negative news around pre season.

According to a HS article with an exclusive update, it claims there is growing belief within the AFL and legal circles that SA charges might be difficult to prosecute following a police review of the statements taken from the Sydney players and officials.

It also says there is divided opinion whether the secret audio evidence seized by police can be admissable in court.

It is a long paywall article, which mostly rehashes the events we already know.

Heeney's staying, Warner's staying, Bice and Jordon will stay and it appears Blakey will stay.

""The last couple of months have been challenging on a lot of different fronts, but Nick's been really good and understanding of the club's position.

"We've had no indication from Nick or his management that he's keen to explore anything, so we're really confident that he'll be at our footy club next year." according to Chric Keane in this article: 'Understanding': Swans dismiss talk of rift with Blakey

It appears all that 'woke hysteria' from the club was indeed effective.

May be an idea for you to back off and stop making it a bit too much about yourself

Bit rough isnt it ? I dont agree with him on this matter, but wouldnt be much of a fourm if we only allowed people to comment as long as they agreed with you, UUaswan has never been rude to anyone and infact I quire enjoy the robust debate between himself and Stevoswan. just my two cents worth

When is the police report due? Is it end October? Surely they have everything they need by now so why not just come out with it?!

It's been reported a decision whether any criminal charges will be laid is expected next month (November) when the Office of Public Prosecutions have finished reviewing the evidence.

Police are now investigating a 2nd secret recording made by a *new" man who is also under police investigation.

The HS reporting a writ has been served against the players, with the club and Taylor Adams being sued by the lawyers representing the alleged victims.
